Hey everyone, I'm fairly new and looking for some information. I've been doing some research on research agents and it sounds like they're not as useful with the lottery going stale. I've also read how you can turn in RP for datacores for invention. Is this still true? If so, is it worth doing? I'd like to get my hands wet doing some BPO reseach as it sounds kinda fun to generate some passive income. Thanks in advance!

The Context in this case is researching with research agents to get datacores. Please read the Original Post if you already forgot what this thread was about.

It means that with good skills and the most valuable datacores and level 4 agents, you can earn approx. 100 million isk worth of cores per month, per character.

You can run 1 research agent, plus 1 for every level in Research Project Management. The most you can get per day is somewhere close to 2 datacores per agent. Assuming you can get exactly 2 datacores per day, you can run 5 agents, and you can sell those cores for 400k each, that would work out to 120 million per month.

And to get to L4 research agents you need to painfully grind through administration missions for standings?
sounds... horrible

You get a storyline every what 16 missions? If you pick the right area you can run 8-10 courier missions at the same time getting a storyline every hour or less, while combat missions take 30-60 minutes per mission. Yeah administration mission suck

edit: while storylines are not necessary for corp factions, the fact that you can run 8 to 10 times the missions in the same time as a kill mission means your corp standings go up a lot faster.
You get higher standings gains for kill missions, you can also blitz kill missions to complete them without having to destory all the rats.
One thing I would point out, if your grinding standings then make sure the storyline agent is the same corp as the one you are grinding standings for (I'm grinding Carthum Congolomerate atm and have just got a 9% standings increase for completing Whispers in the dark 4/4).

Did it in two days. It's just a matter of picking the right agent to work for. If you can find a spot where the storyline will come from an agent of the same corp, you're gold. Do the 16th mission near the storyline agent, then with the storyline you'll also get a really nice corp standing bump to go with that faction standing bump. That L4 courier storyline mission that wants you to move 40,000 m3 of cargo? ~8% Caldari State and ~20% Ishukone standing when I did it.
One qualifier: I did have high enough Caldari State standing already to use some L4 agents when I started.
