I am interested in the backstory to concord and their technology. Where do they get such awesome power from and how does it fit into the backstory?
As I understood it, the 4 empires started Concord, so it makes sense that the empires also have the technology that Concord uses in their ships.... so why didnt the Amarr use this technology in the old battle they once had against the Jove? Surely that shouldve beaten the Jove easily seeing that 1 BS and a couple of cruisers can kill a tanked Dread in one volley.
I did find this about Concord, but this doesnt explain the technology they have, where it came from, and why the empire navies dont makes use of it.
So whats the backstory behind this?

I'd assume that all ships that operate in Empire space are required to have some kind of failsaves and killswitches, CONCORD doesnt instajam your ship but actually activates these failsaves and shuts down your capacitor etc etc.

If I remember correctly (probably not), CONCORD actually uses some next-level tech from the Jove. Mini wormholes, crazy weapons, that sort of thing.
Someone want to back me up here? I remember reading something to that effect.

Once upon a time long ago CCP staff boarded Concord ships one or two times and pulled a few neat stunts. Their ghosts still live inside the Concord mainframe making their hardware totally uber.

If I remember correctly the novel points out that no-one knows where their technology came from, perhaps the Jove.
Suffice to say they don't have micro-wormholes, they use stargates like everyone else.

the book states the ships are that of jove design but there gunnery and systems are no more powerful then any of the empires and there only real advantage is something embedded within the star gates that allow them to travel much faster then we currently know how to

/me is still waiting after years for some epic concord fleet to claim a larger region and declare themselves the leaders of all empire space. One ring to rule them all. (concord is EVE's version of the Trilateral Commission.)

CONCORD is the 'UN Peacekeeping Force' of EvE. They utilize all four empire's technologies. They used to smoke weed and barely ever responded to a call, but the new chief put them on meth and they cant come fast enough.
It is a well known fact that CONCORD is backed by EBIL Corp, which is a front for Krispee Kreme Interstellar.
The CONCORD Battleship is widely renowned for dropping Miner Is.
When CONCORD first came out, you had to be in mOo for them to respond to your actions. This was long thought to be due to the need for milk.

While, indeed, the chronicle doesn't explain where the tech came from, it does state that Concord has broken free of the hold of the four empires and has become an independent institution, explaining why they are the only ones using this uber tech. It stands to reason they have since then developed their own research and industry facilities.

CONCORD are powerful because they are a game mechanic.
If you have ever done a mission against CONCORD from the pirate factions, the CONCORD ships there are stronger than pirate/empire faction ships, but killable.
And no, CONCORD could not defeat a jove mothership. It wiped out an ENTIRE FLEET...
BECAUSE OF FALCON.
