I've just finished two Cosmos mission arcs for the Gallente, in a two man fleet (Bringing a new toon up in Gallente faction standings).
After ending each mission and sharing the mission rewards, both characters get an increase in corp standings as normal. However, only my main gets the faction increase when the mission arc ends. My new character is still at 0.0 faction standings, while my Main has gone from 6.95 to 7.02.
Does the faction increase only apply to the character that accepts the mission, and is not spread evenly to each member of the fleet, or is there a bug here? I'd appreciaite any help people could give.

You can't share faction standings afaik, so what you experienced is normal and working as intended I believe.

If this were possible people (ME) would create an alt, have them run through faction stuff in a gang and recover (-5.01 Caldari for me) their bad faction standings way too easily. I'd be able to take missions from them within a day. A few days and I'd be able to take L4s. Not balanced, and I'm glad its not that easy. |

Thanx for the responses guys. TBH, I don't have any problem with the mechanic (makes sense that faction standing can't be raised too easily). I just wish CCP would put information like this where paying subscribers can actually find it.
Oh well, another half a days game-time wasted...

IMO the irrevocable nature of faction standing is a terrible, terrible game mechanic. It may bite people on the butt long after they can do something about it.
Got some SP, ISKs and ready to dip your toes in for life in 0.0? Too bad, your standings won't let you run pirate agents. You are required to remain a highsec-only carebear.
Ready for a career as a trader? Too bad, the other two factions hate your guts. You must roll some trade alts instead. And in summary, bigger blobs are the answer. Now what was the question? |

Clair, that is not strictly true. You can always recover enough standing to start lowest-level missions using Diplomacy skill (unless you already used it). And you can mission for many related factions to grind up some other faction you can't touch.
