I've noticed the past week that when I do level 3 Security Agent missions, and I am fighting Gurista Rats, I am not icreasing in security status. Does anyone have a reason for this? I thought if you killed thieves or rats your security rating would keep going up, no matter how small the increase. --------------------------------------------------- (\_/) Is this bunny or Picachu? Where did you check for increases?
Charsheet log, your "Edit member/View details" screen, or the Concord corp standings?

I check for security gains in 2 places: - Character Sheet, Security tab. I can view all % increases on a daily basis. - If you right click my character name in the chat section, click view member details, it will show the actual security rating to ten places I believe (like 1.643195679 right now).
I haven't received a security gain since 9/10/04, and on 9/10 it was for 1 kill only, though I did many missions that day. I play for about 3 hours a day doing Security lvl 3 agent missions. --------------------------------------------------- (\_/) Is this bunny or Picachu? That is odd, I'm at >4.16 and still get regular increases from lvl 3 missions.
Looks like a petition maybe in order if your excat number doesn't actually rise anymore. |

if u have a high sec rating, killing small rats wont increase it anymore, or so i was told. So the higher ur sec status, the higher the rat u have to kill to get a gain

It works the same as faction standing, which has diminishing returns.
This is how the formula works if you get, say, a 5% bonus. Standing Change = 0.05 * (Max possible Standing - Old Standing)
So if you have a sec level of 0.0, it would work like this: 0.05 * (10.0 - 0.0) = 0.5 sec level increase.
If you have a sec level of 5.0, it would work like so: 0.05 * (10.0 - 5.0) = 0.25 sec level increase.
So the same increase is half as effective at 5.0 than it would be at 0.0
Now, look at the average % gain on killing a rat, usually something like 0.0034%. That is NOT a lot. (0.00017 sec status increase if you're at 5.0)

No, to clarify: My security rating is increasing without fail even though I am above 4.16 - if only in the third decimal after a cruiser kill but still going up.
If you destroy NPC cruisers and your security rating doesn't rise (check the absolute number in intervals of say an hour), then you should petition. |

Today I thought of why I'm not gaining, not even a .000000001% lolz. I have been using a Raven now to do my Security missions for a lvl 3 agent. If I use my Caracal, then I can gain anywhere from .001 to .02% change seen in the Security log in Character Sheet. I really don't see why it should matter what size ship I use, I'm still kiling the same level of Rat. --------------------------------------------------- (\_/) Is this bunny or Picachu? Sorry to drag this up but it poped up in the search i did.
I have this same thing happening, been doing missions all day and only had 2 ss increases, is it a fact that it depends which ship you are flying, as im using a mega for missions atm.
