Yeah, so, are "hidden belts" (NO, I don't mean grav sites) still around these days? Been a couple years since it was talked about, but given all the recent expansions and such I was curious if they're still around. Been looking the last few days in .5 and .6, but to no avail. |

I seem to recall the being around long after Grav sites were introduced...

I dunno what the hell you kids are going on about, belts are not rings, dunno where the **** you got that info, and yes they are still around, just got a moderate ark belt last week and a bistot belt before that, mind you they suck ass compared to grav sites but thats besides the point. |

Im sorry but what does a tech demo that CCP showed and Said MIGHT make it into the game at a far later date have to do with ops question on a mechanic now? Belts are not rings nor will they be rings for a long time, so posting that was not only a waste of everyones time but completely off into left field and off topic. |

Just to be clear, I think the OP is talking about the Belts that end up hidden by accidental Grid-Fu on some grid nearby to the normal asteroid belts.
I don't know if they still exist, since I haven't mined in a while, but I haven't heard of a mechanic change that would suggest that CCP has fixed them. Single-Shard, Player Driven-áSandbox.

No hes not, am i the only one who mines in this forum? Hes talking about the random grav sites that spawn but are not linked to any sov index or anything else, like large kernite+jaspet belts ect. They still do exist but are **** all rare in highsec. |

Did you read the OP's post? He specifically said he's NOT talking about grav sites. And if you're comparing the layout of normal asteroid belts, to those from several years ago, they ARE circular in nature.

Sure he's talking about the Grav sites.
Most people nowadays refer to Industry Upgrade Grav sites as "Hidden Belts," normal Grav Sites as "Grav Sites," and don't really talk about the original use of the term "Hidden Belts," referring to roids that have fallen off grid from the main, warpable from the right click menu, belt. Single-Shard, Player Driven-áSandbox.

Ruby, thanks for the clarification.
To recap, I am not asking about Grav sites, and those that can up "upgraded" using sov mechanics. By "hidden belts" I am indeed referring to those chunks/belts/rings/circles/patches/whatever of mine-able asteroids that could indeed be found off-grid of a known asteroid belt, but could be found at one time via dscan "near" a warpable assteroid belt. Being off-grid you had to actually look actively for the bloody things, rather than a quick warp-to and mine. I can easily find grav sites should the mood strike me, but the interest is there for me to look for these "hidden" caches of rocks off-grid from everyone else (until I get there, of course).
Now if you consider anything with a mine-able rock in it, irrespective of location or whatever, a "grav site", then sure, call it a grav site. But that's patently NOT what I'm asking about.
Thanks for the input, guys! |

Plex/wh/grav sites spawns randomly , sov upgrades make them spawn more often , that's about it ! Your hidden belts are the grav sites ! they might have been available before (it was just a grid glitch not a feature ), but not any more ! |

This Sir got it, you guys should read it and try to understand. "Hidden belts" are nothing but Grav sites and yes those still exist.

Are you saying that Grid-Fu Belts no longer exist? Because I honestly don't know. I was just clarifying that the OP is talking about the original use of the term "Hidden Belts" which referred to Asteroids that fell off Grid from a normal overview/rt click menu belt.
Everyone knows Grav sites and Indy Upgrade sites still exist. The question is whether Roids still fall off grid from normal belts.
To be extraordinarily clear, the only way to get to the Grid-Fu Belts that the OP is talking about is to burn away from a normal overview belt until you're on the new grid with the Grid-Fu Belt, then bookmark it. You cannot use probes to find these roids, they're basically a safespot with roids in it. Single-Shard, Player Driven-áSandbox.

Roids dont move from thier spots in the astroid belts, at least in the past 7 months of mining iv never seen that, while in nullsec i have seen the huge belts, where roids range from 700km to over1000km apart if thats what you mean. |

They don't move, but they used to, on occasion, spawn off grid from the rest of the roids. Whether it was due to overcrowding in belts that hadn't been mined much, or the grid increasing in size over a day of mining, then being reset to normal size after new roids had spawned, I'm not sure. But there used to be asteroids some 300-500km off the warpin point that were not on the same grid as the warpin point.
This thread is about seeing if that still happens.
For more information on Grids, look up Goonswarm's Grid-Fu Guide. Single-Shard, Player Driven-áSandbox.
