i tried to file this petition, didnt work because i somehow needed to create an account which failed for some vague reason.
Quote:
i just finished training reasearch level 4 at 15:55 eve time. i reaceived the evemail + the ingame notice. When i looked at my skillsheet it was still at level 3 and 8000 skillpoints like 23 hours ago. Relogging or refreshing the skill sheet did not help. I Did not try to train the research skill again out of fear that it would be irreversable at level 3. please fix this so i can get on with my Research level 5 training.
Thanks in advance

I get that quite frequently - I just restart the same skill training, then flick to something else and normally the one that was wrong updates to the correct level.
No idea why but happens probably 1 in 3 times I level a skill!

Ive had the same problem and a complete log to desktop and a clearing of the cache (except settings and prefs.ini) has always worked for me as well.
Does make you panic after spending a week training a skill only to show its not there.

I start training another skill, then log to the desktop and relog in, and that usually fixes things. --------------

I think that the only thing said from GM:s/devs in this matter is NOT to start the same skill again if this happens as this MAY set the skill back. DonŠt wanna test my luck when I finish battleship 5 and get this bug.

I have this bug very often. When it happens just log off, wait a minute or 2 and then login again and if that doesnt work empty your cache. But whatever you do, DON'T restart training it. I did this the first time i had the bug and you'll lose the time spend training it the first time.

The only thing i've heard that will make it irreversible is to train the same skill again to the next level (so train it twice to lvl4). I usually start to train the skill and switch to another skill. Most of the time this fixes it, otherwise i have to relog.

Yeah guys, I've found that if you DO re-train the skill, then immediatley abort the training it will fix the problem, usually on the first try.
"The long and short of it is that this game, or any game, is either going to be a kindergarten where it's safe and cuddly and secure and you can play with plush tigers, or it will be a harsh place, harsh but interesting and interesting because harsh, where you must take risks to succeed and so must everyone, since victory is tasteless without danger." - Raivn Akhama

When in doubt check the skill on the character sheet on Eve insider, that seems to be always correct.

I've had this problem a couple of times. When I have petitioned and pushed the person who responded I was told that because the problem does not appear on there server side logs that they can not do anything to sort the problem.
sounds to me that it is a problem they need to spend some time on!

Exactly the same happened to me. I lost 2 days of training because of this and they wouldn't refund my skillpoints because their logs didnt show anything. They need to fix their damn logs or the client because either way, it's their fault.

Im fairly sure the problem happens when you are looking at your charactersheet when you finish leveling if you keep the sheet closed whilst the training finishes then the problem doesnt "seem" to recur or at least thats my experience of it, i may well be totally wrong

this is an old bug.. usually is fixed by re-logging or canceling a skill. (refreshes the cache)

Sometimes that doesn't fix it. Almost every skill I train doesn't apply correctly first time, like you said it *usually* fixes by doing that, but in some cases (as with my most recent one) it doesn't fix and it costs me training/gameplay/money which CCP refuses to give me back.
