Hi, sorry if these have been asked before but I did have a quick look.
1) The distribution of exploration sites in a system.
I read on another topic a few days ago that it used to be the case that exploration sites were within 4AU of a visible clestial object and that this was changed recently. Is this the case? Also this got me wondering about something related - are exploration sites always found within the orbit of the outermost planet?
I only use Sisters probes and I was curious if I'm potentially missing out on a lot of sites by not exploring beyond the last planet.
2) The distribution of exploration sites in general.
Is it quite common for systems to spawn the same eploration site again and again? about two weeks ago my home system spawned 'Angel Vigil' four days in a row, and recently another system I frequent has spawned the same radar site 3 days in a row. Does anyone know if this is random chance or is it possible to work out a pattern of which sites will appear where?
Thanks. |

As far as i know 4 au is the max distance except for wormholes, they can be further but not further than 8 au.
Sites can be found around any planet.
It is rather unlikely that sites respawn in the same system but it can happen. How i was told it works is that a site spawns in a system and stays there for a couple of days(72 ours?) untill someone completes it. When it despawns it spawns somewhere else in the region(s).
Could it be you scanned the same sites perhaps?

For the examples I gave, when I scanned the Angel Vigil down 4 days in a row in the same system me and my corp mates completed it on all 4 occassions and it despawned (because I looted it afterwards and all the large collidable objects and structures had disappeared) Same for the radar site, i successfully hacked it every day and it despawned afterwards (I know it depsawned because I scanned the same system 6 hours later and it was gone, but was backafter down time)
Can you confirm that exploration sites do not appear outside the orbit of the outsermost planet?
Thanks for your reply by the way.

I think they spawn at a max of 8 AU. These -might- just be wormholes, but this hasn't been confirmed I don't think. |
