Which is the best overall Amarr battleship for tearing through Blood and Amarr missions? I was thinking maybe the Navy Apoc with Navy pulses. Anyone got any suggestions and tried and tested fits?
Cheers

If your going with Pulses, use T2 for the scorch, they are just amazing. As far as which is best, The Apoc is the best for low skillpoints but the Baddon is better once you are very familier with missions and have high skill points fields a amazing gank tank.
The real answer is yes, all of the Amarr battleships are good for running missions. --- Its like my mom always said... "I knew I should of drowned that one." |

i really recomend the apoc, or the navy apoc if you can afford it because of the extra lowslot.
dont bother with the abaddon...much easier to use the apoc.
also...stay away from the geddon for missions. cheap and lots of dps but hard to use.

Apoc should be able to field a more powerful tank while also providing extra range over the Geddon. The Geddon will do more damage without additional damage mods because of its RoF bonus, but the shorter weapon range and lower fitting stats mean it's not as good of a choice for missions.
Apoc and Geddon are both good PvP ships, but the Geddon really shines in PvP at close ranges when you want something that can be both competently fit and reasonably cheap to lose. |

Anyone care to share tried and tested Navy Apoc fits? I have done the usual EFT and search and found a couple.

use a normal apoc setup and slap a extra resist or heat sink on. might need some faction gear to make it fit with the cpu

For low SP and mission experiance, I recommend the following fit for a NavyPoc.
Highs, 8xMPII, Amarr Navy Multi, Amarr Navy Xray, and Scorch
Mids, 4xCap recharger 2 / 3x and a afterburner
Lows, 3 Amarr Navy Heatsinks, (If you are using the after burner I believe you need to replace one of these with a CPR) 4x Rat specific Hardeners and a Single LARII for your tank
Rigs, 2x Aux Nano Pumps, 1x CCC,
If you have better skills and more familiarity with Missions replace the Aux Nano Pumps with Optimal Range rigs to get your Scorch pulse lasers shooting out to 80km.
With the Aux nano pumps this thing sports nearly a 800DPS permatank while still using 3 heatsinks. --- Its like my mom always said... "I knew I should of drowned that one." |

I don't have the skills for T2 guns. Am I better of using Navy Beams or Navy Pulses until I do have the skills? |

This! Best named with faction crystals should do you. |

The Navy pulses are pretty pricy though they seem to maintain their value so they might be worth it. They do a bit more damage than the best named and use less cap, though they do take more fitting.
I guess it's a make up for the annoying resists of angels that only every now and then I find myself chasing down stragglers with an AB in Minmatar space.

Geddon is cheapest and best dmg dealer from amarr.
I go 1 vs vs any amarr ship in a geddon. There some very very nice setups which make the geddon an allround ship. i love it.. sadly i lose em to often tough |

Just get a normal Apoc, fit 2x CCC rigs and an Energy Collision Accelerator I. Now fit 4 rat specific hardeners, 2x heatsink and a t2 armor rep. On easier missions fit a 3rd heatsink and now you're doing more damage than a navy apoc.
I just don't get the appeal for a navy version of this ship. Lower calibration points means you're only fitting 3x CCC's and adding a 3rd heatsink, while in most missions a normal apoc can fit a damage rig and 3x heatsinks. |
