I have a confession to make, I have been talked into dog sitting for a week while my friend goes on holiday. This in its self isn't that bad, except I forgot to make sure she had broadband. Needless to say, I'm now stuck with only 5 TV channels and a crappy T-Mobile wireless dongle connection.
So, I come to the main reasoning behind this post, I'm bored and want something to do.
To help with the boredom, I'd like some ingame reports of whats going on or random interesting links to site (not dirty ones) that I should be able to use on this crappy connection.

Eve is all bugged. abc rocks are in empire as well as BS size rats... I hear it will be fixed in the next 6 days though.

I think you actually have halloween costumes for pets, I've seen cats dressed up as crabs for instance so that might be a starting point. Dont hurt the doggy woggy though.

Not as creative but maybe helpful EVE ONLINE PAPERCRAFT 
if you anyway have to pick up the hdd

Ingame reports? Well, here you go.
I'm currently heading through Tararan trying to find someone to shoot at in my Absolution. The Minmatar Militia was able to field a 30-40 ship blob of mostly BS to fend off our 20 man fleet (2 were carriers though) but it was 1-2 hours too late and we didn't have a fleet going anymore.
This is pretty common, considering the timezone issues in FW. Amarr are semi-active during EU evenings but fail hard in the US timezone and thus avoid the huge Minmatar fleets sitting somewhere ready to gank us.
There is a Vigil with a Core Scanner Probe out in Ashged but it's 5 AU below a gate far off from anything and I do not have probes on my own. It warped off now, no fun to be had anyways.
Heading to Labapi next because the name sounds funny.
It just turned out it's empty and no one shares my interest in systems with funny names.
Arayar is empty, too. Halmah is next. Empty, too.
I begin to question the whole concept of sorting the map by the active pilots in space in 30 minutes. I have to take several jumps back now to get to Sahtogas, which shows a larger amount of potential pilots in space.
There's a Minmatar ceptor frig gang of 2-3 people crossing paths but they do not consider taking my Abso on and leave before I can lock them.
Mynxee in a Jaguar passed me - his sec status would've made him a target but I couldn't get a lock in time. He said "Mynxee > \o" in local though - I wonder who that was for.
This is quite uneventful gameplay and I thus conclude I'll stop reporting now.

Confirming that I run eve on dialup with minimal lag issues (voice comms are another story, though).

You can run Eve quite happily on a low bandwidth connection but don't try and PVP too much with a high latency connection, it will end in tears.

officer spawns are off the roof the value's and equation for there spawns has bugged and has cause it all to spawn in 0.0/low sec for every 10 seconds and yet prices for the officer stuff have risin to 10x the ussuall price :D \o/ |

1) I sometimes pass the time at college by keeping an eye on the BBC News website and I use the low-graphics version so it loads pages faster on my netbook.
2) You have a week alone (To my knowledge, dogs cannot give testimony) so you could (for example) take over your entire ****ography collection and finally catalogue it into an orderly fashion (if required) ...
... and there go my plans for the weekend into the ether.
