I quit playing EVE about a year and a half ago but recently got an email from CCP offering a free 24 hour reactivation because i had a character with over 300M in wallet and could therefore buy a GTC on the market with my ingame earnings. So i hop onto the forums and see what's changed since my day. Amongst other things, new skills, new ships, a skill queue - a most excellent feature that's been in demand for what 6 years now? So i decide to give it another go.
Another feature that's in high demand as far as the forums tell me is the posibility to download the client via BT which seems only logical seem as downloading a 2gig .exe file with anything else than bit torrent is an accident waiting to happen IMHO. So imagine my surprise when on the client download page, lo and behold, there's a link saying "download using bit torrent".
So i click the link thinkin "its about damn freakin time they made this available" but then im quite dissapointed when i end up with a file named "EVE_Premium_Setup_89883_m.exe-downloader.exe" instead of the expected .torrent file. Now i'm not sure wtf the "CCP downloader" is, but it sure as heck aint BT. Ive been trying to download the client all day and after it gets towards the end, it nukes the entire 2gig file i just spent 4 hours downloading (x2) and starts over from scratch. Needless to say a good ol .torrent would be very much appreciated. |

Edit: Oh... I personally just download the full offline file with Firefox's downloader which can pause, stop and resume in mid-download as often as I like. No need BT there.

Don't bother with the torrent option as it installs stuff that you don't want -- RaTTuS @ InEve, Capital Prints for sale |

I got the client recently with downthemall. no problems there.
also 60 day gtc's only now and even a 30 day plex (in game item) costs 350m + at the moment

I've never had an issue with it, gives me time to go take a Tom Kite. Signature locked for discussing moderation. Navigator
