I've been having a lot of trouble with my capacitor the last few days; it keeps dropping to empty. Sometimes it just changes to empty instantly, sometimes it drops over a period of about 15 seconds like I'm running some immense high-drain module. It's not just a display bug either; often I find that jumps I used to be able to do in one go now take two jump because the cap hasn;t got the power to do teh jump at once.
I've repackaged all my modules, thats hasn't helped at all. Is anyone else seeing this problem? Since I rely on my microwarp not running out of juice in combat this is a pretty serious problem for me, and if it leads to ship loss I have no chance of reimbursment unless the server logs tracks cap usage (and given that they don't track a bunch of important stuff I consider this to be unlikly)

Edited by: Eutectic on 16/09/2004 05:11:09 I am having the very same issues. It's quite frustrating and dangerous needless to say.
I can't seem to fix it either.
OK after more testing it's some type of display bug for me, my cap shows 0 on screen but i can still activate my mwd.
Still makes playing rather difficult as I now have no idea how much cap I have and I play armor tanked.

Ok even more bizare behavior. The bug is only in certain systems for me. Typically my large armor repairer takes me 5% of my cap to run once. In certain systems though the cap indicator says it takes 20 to 25%. Note this is for all modules that have activation energy I just uesd the armor repairer as an example.
My overall cap isn't affected as I can run modules even when the display shows 0%. This is frustrating.

Edited by: Mean Jeebus on 17/09/2004 16:45:36 I don't know why, but it seems to me to be skill related. I see similar cap and shield level issues when leaving a station after refitting.
The two problems I notice most are:
1. You fit an MWD and launch. When activating the device or going to warp for the first time, the cap goes to zero or near zero. This reminds me of earlier problems where skill bonuses were getting miscaculated and the cap display was showing a false 'full cap' display and correcting it when soemthing used cap.
Possibly the display was showing the cap penalty for fitting an MWD -ONLY AFTER- something used cap. Therefore the cap appeared to go closer to empty than it should because it was still gauging 'full' as the pre-MWD penalty and the current cap level was with the penalty figured-in, thus showing a greater difference in the current level in relation to the full mark.
2. You launch a ship and the shield either is not full or the shield display suddenly gets chopped like you just took a bunch of damage. This reminds me of Beta bugs where the display was not keeping up with actual values and was 'correcting' itself when foreced to re-read the shield amount. This happened more often when there were more skills and bonuses to factor into the shield calculations on a ship.
It seems as if some of the application of skills along with the timing of this application is what is either draining the cap or causing a mis-display of cap/shields.
This could also be related to the change made in the offline/online code that was made a while back. Remember the problems with modules going offline and how some module bonuses wouldn't get applied even though they appeared to be online?
Sometimes repackaging the ship (voiding insurance) fixes these issues, but I woudln't do it on a fully insured BS.
EDIT: Eutectic, try enabling the display of cap and shield values and have them displayed as whole numbers. That should let you know exactly how much cap is left and is being used.
Just my 2ISK.

Yep, I'm getting it too. Got it twice today - very deadly when you turn on armour repairers while being scframbled and pounded by missiles, and suddenly you have no cap left.
And several others in corp have reported. One person did everything to try and reset, to no effect, but then it suddenly vanished a little while later.

I'm having it all the time on the kermek solarsystem and a system next to it (the one on the road to Ashab). It happens to me while I'm flying my taranis loaded with the common 10mn AB setup. My skills
I've been told that it's a server-side problem specific to kermek, but that could be just a guesstimate of the problem.

I'm experiencing this in Tanoo, as well as other systems while travelling.
Dual MWD use seems to really bring it out. |

Got something simelar, also noticed sometimes when warping the capacitator start to lower instead of taking the power it needed for the warp in front and started to recharge in the mean time. __________________________________________________ "Time will reveal everything, but only once so be prepared." |
