This would be absolutely EPIC!
Oh god yes!
This would **** off everyone, and be epic as hell! NO clone jumping in empire for 24 hours (or until next downtime) - My god, that would be fantastic!

CCP isn't into having thousands of people cancel their accounts at once for some odd reason.

I do think it would be fun to have an opposite day ... Concord in 00 and lowsec, no law in high sec... just for a day... Make Concord killable but 0.0 Sleeper Hard - would be great to see Alliances out killing Concord and the bloodbath in Jita would be amazing to watch.... |

only game reshaping event i would love to see is every high sec region cut off from its neighbor by some event that requires either traveling through low sec or worm hole.
Every hub surrounded by low sec space, any new that pop up, get the same treatment.
shrinking of empire isn't necessary, but there are soooo many maps of known space these days I can practically read out every system i need to hit to get from hub to hub by rote.
wanna buy a transit overhaul ;p
No, this isn't because I want to get free loot. Only time I really ever bother to loot ships that die is if the person in fleet that lost stuff is a top banana, I'll grab their stuff and contract it back to em.

Nice idea, I'm at that point where I have those really annoying 30day skills chained up. Any reason not to bother logging in seems to make this time go by faster.

I really like reading the responses of the people who either don't think or don't know that EVE is a pvp game

pvp is often funded by pve so without the pve being done with some degree of control, pvp soon grinds to a halt.
In short, such ideas are great big boondoggles.

A ridiculously self serving request....
I would rather see a concord coo to take control of all empire away from current factions and become a brand new faction who also start taking 0.0 one system at a time.

Wouldn't everyone who isnt capable or want to PvP just log off for that day? Meaning you've turned empire into 0.0 for nothing because only the cowardly "griefer" players would swarm to 1.0 jita hoping to catch noobs and end up having to fight other griefers instead. (Assuming you're not so cowardly you'd actually run away from a fair fight) :)
Funny thought as a result, wouldn't the following day (Monday) mean Concord has every officer out in the field and able to invade low sec? Since everyones had their time off on Sunday means everyone is at work on Monday hehe

I don't disagree that Eve is heavily geared toward people who want to PvP; it's just not the ONE AND ONLY aspect of the game. Those who would call Eve a PvP only game are sadly uneducated and misinformed. If this were true, you would see something like the max level character creation that guild wars had or something of the like. |

And this is the point where someone will come to tell you how in EVE everything is PvP, including trading and mining. Well, they aren't, not in the same way as shooting at other players is and that unfortunate bit of semantic acrobatics is still making my heart sad.

awesome accumulation of tears here.
some of you just live for isk. And... why you want more and more isk? Apart from paying accounts for free... ANYTHING ELSE.
First, 90% of players are in highsec THIS IS FALSE, as most are alts from 0.0 players and then macroers and spammers or trade alts
Second, the I-WON'T-LEAVE-HIGHSEC-EVER type of player, has mental issues. No offence. Why would you want to earn more and more and more isk... for what??? It's some kind of Diogenes syndrome lol. ISK is a mean, not the end. This is a spaceship game, not a wallet-excel-accounting simulator.
Third I endorse this product it would make many Diogenes-patients to get rid of this syndrome and realize how fun this game is.

LOL
You have your goal, I have mine.
I am all for PvP in terms of inter-corp and inter-alliance wars. Build a power base, get a group of 1000 people on your side and have a massive territorial space battle. Great Idea! To PvP as a Pirate, however, is indicative of its own set of mental problems :)
Piracy, as a profession, is cool by me... hunt down people that wander into low sec, trap them, ransom them, get them to jettison cargo ... that's good game play. To just rack up pod kills, however, is pointless griefing.
As much as I hate Pirates, they are the necessary evil of the game, that make low sec and null sec the challenge they are. The real problem at the moment is that there is not the risk/reward ratio there to get people out of high sec. If the high end minerals were worth it, people would risk venturing to pirate infested areas.
That could be the cure to the OP's desires.
My goal... is not to accumulate isk to PvP, but to afford to buy bigger mining ships, freighters and maybe a POS to build the ships for all the pirates, their victims and the warriors.
ISK is still the means, but PvP is not the goal... not in the least. |
