Whats with the loot these days, all i now get with large turrets is meta 1-4 items and no 'ordinary' ones.
I used to make quite a bit of isk from the normal large guns, now they all get melted down |

I guess the market is getting flooded with loot from missions. I have trained up my refining skills and melt the loot down as well. I use it to manufacture ammo with BPO's This saves a lot of money not having to stock up on bullets and missiles.
Also, I want to be able to loot crew members from destroyed ships in missions. I feel all alone in my captain's quarters at night, and a cute Minmatar slave girl would make things much sweeter. |

There's these things, called exotic dancers. Buy them all. Have sexy parties.
I'm not too confused by the loot, but I am confused by the source. Gone Berserk is probably one of my favorite missions, but I don't get why I should be pulling tachyon beams out of a frigate wreck. |

Melting them down is probably the best you can do nowadays. Gone are the 'glorious' days of finding a lucky officer mod. At least the salvage makes up for it in some way.

The change you are seeing in loot drops is a deliberate change ccp made several expansions ago (not sure how long). Now you get metal scraps instead of the meta 0 large weapons you used to get. At the time, the change was to stop mission runners from being able to mine more minerals in the reprocessing facility than a miner could in an asteroid belt; to help make mining a viable activity. (I think that was the basic rationale). It's been this way for awhile. |
