Hey all! I've discovered the perfect way to run missions without each one being repetitive and boring, and I thought I'd share with the rest of the community!
THINGS U WILL NEEDS a. 1 Carton High-Quality Matches b. 5 Gallons High-Octane Gasoline c. Firefighter's Suit d. Eve Online Account
Pick your favorite faction battleship and fit for your tank 1 (one) Tech 2 Damage Control Unit. Fill your mid slots with hull repair modules (pref Tech 2). The rest of your fitting can be whatever you like, provided it IS NOT TANK.
Start by allowing your ship to lose shields and armor, and start hull reppers. Maintain a hull integrity of NO MORE THAN 66%. Once this is accomplished, dump the 5 Gallons High-Octane Gasoline on your floor, and light 5-10 matches from the Carton of High-Quality Matches, throwing them thence into the puddle of High-Octane Gasoline. Don firefighter suit.
Now experience the realism and excitement of running a mission in a ship in critical condition as your house burns down around you! Feel the heat of the flames as your virtual crew would! Experience the lack of oxygen that comes with decompression via smoke asphyxiation! This is as real as it gets, guys.
For added lulz, do this in other peoples' houses while playing Eve via laptop!

I once flew my severely hull damaged Hurricane thru a few gates, eventually to dock and fit hull reppers.
All the while I was on fire, looking like an Olympic torch going sideways. When I warped, the flames would recede, as warp ended, they'd catch up and I scrambled to find my marshmallows.
Often thought I'd keep a ship this way to run errands, etc, to trade hubs just to get a few laughs.

Haha, same here. In fact I ran missions for a full month in a Dominix with a severely damaged hull because I was too lazy to fit the reppers and fix it. That was back in the old client when the smoke and fire would flip out and turn into a grey line.
Chainsaw Plankton: Thank you kindly! /bow TBH I'm a fan of some of your work as well.
EDIT: It's Vaeliel.. Dammit, why doesn't it remember which character you posted as so you don't look like a dumba$$! |

I thought other people couldn't see the smoke/flames? Or has that been fixed in the new graphics. I last checked that years ago. |

Wouldn't you want to don the firesuit prior to lighting the gas around you on fire? |

donning the fire suit before the flames arrive shows that you were expecting to go down in flames. im not sure you would get a crew to fly with you under those circumstances. |

My bad! I assumed dumping the gas and lighting it first confirmed said expectations. |

To the OP:
That sounds much like the game I play at home whereby I replace all the lights in my bathroom with red ones, fill the bathtub full of water, turn on the shower and pretend I'm in a submarine that just got hit.
