I'm curios why the scorpion wasn't used that much? Seriously its beast with jamming and with 2-3 scorps with torps you would be able to lock down a whole team permanently while having frigates web them and target paint them the torps would do serious damage. Also the scorps wouldn't have to worry about ships leaving their range of jamming considering how ridiculously long their range is and anything that could get out of their range prob couldn't hit them at that range. I'm very surprised this setup wasn't used and am highly disappointed because i don't see any *****s in the armor if anyone could point them out to me please do. The only counter I could see working would be drones that aggress before they can lock'em down. But a bunch of light drones could get rid of them.
Anouther result would be a rise in sniping bs and who doesn't wanna see bs slugfests as opposed to all this istar/stabber/caracol crap. |

There tends to be a lot of sentrydrones about and a setup of sentrydrones can seriously work its magic on a scorpion with a armortank (which I presume you're suggesting here). Without the ability to rr this damage the scorpions wouldn't last long and their torps (effective range of between 15-20km I believe?) would mainly fly around and be worthless while their opponents mwd around.
Like many setups it might sound good in theory but not work in practice.

you do have 8 mid slots no reason to not have a scram and web or you could bring a hugin with its ability to nasty up mwds. I guess the teh sentries would be a problem but hmmm well the damage would be spread out there woulndnt be any focused fire which would help the scorps Ive pirated dominixes in simlilar scorp setups the sentries hurt but if u do someting similar to that rohk set up from teh last torniment you could support a dual repper settup.
actually perhaps they could just forgo the ewar and just mount massive tankes wiht 8 mid slots they could get thier resists seriosly high

Ive flown a scorp in wars before. The scorp works best in a fleet, bring it in after the engaement and jam the opponent. this gives your team the advantage clear and cut. if they cant target you then your side has the advantage. Jam them from 50K+, that gives the scorp better survival time, yes the scorp is one of those ships tha thas a big red target painted on it,...makes it a target for sure. but nothing that reping drones cant take care of,..ie spider tanking. Ive been chased several times in wars from them trying to take the jammer out. best to have a cloak fitted to hide too,..just a suggestion. I learned form doing with the scorp, its a fun ship to fly, hard to manage as far as survival goes,...jsut watch your-6 and watch for the one that wants to bum rush you, watch for drones especially the large ones,..they tend to hurt,...other than that the scorp is well worth the time to learn to fly. -=+>xXx<+=- Fly safe and jammers rule! |

So then i guess you missed the part about all ships needing to be at the battlefield before the match begins or the part where cloaks aren't allowed.

Actually, with the nerf to falcons and rooks in their ECM range, a scorp or two may actually appear on some teams given that it can jam from a greater range with a slightly stronger tank. The major down side is that having a bunch of ships fitted with damps seems to be a more popular tactic in the tourny given that their are a very limited number of ships and are easier to work with than ECMs.
