I lost a hulk yesterday because some ore thief stole from me and then shot me. I thought you were supposed to be safe from being shot while you were in highsec. Can someone explain to me how this happened or if its a bug and I should petition? |

if they take from ya, you can attack them, they can't shoot you until you do some hostile act to them. So if your drones hit him or if he flipped your can and you took back from the can that is now his he can shoot you.

Everything was very legal by the sound of it. They can only attack you if you attack them whilst they are flagged for taking from your jettisoned can. So your drones must have engaged or something. Only then can they shoot back. It's easy to avoid. Stay away from busy systems and belts and pay attention to your surroundings. And hi sec does not guarantee your safety 100%. It never did. It just means its a lot safer than low sec. As it should be. but still in certain situations you can be in danger. |

Yes, it is a bug and needs to be petitioned! CCP has too long ignored this blatant violation of the intended security of hisec jetcan mining and only through your efforts will it ever be resolved! Petition! Petition it until the servers clog with requests for it to be fixed! Then and only then will this hideous travesty be resolved and once again the noble Hulk will be free and mining with no fear of canflippers as God and Nature intended!  |
