I'm curious, how many trillionaires are there in EVE? I'm talking assets of course not cash, and all counted assets must be completely solely owned with no valid claims over them by any other party. Which will rule out some heads of alliances, fund managers etc.
So what do you think? 20? 50? 200? Feel free to name names, and if you're guesstimating/speculating over others post your reasoning.
It's Saturday night and I want some gossip!!!

I can only think of 2 people.
Entity, for sure. And Verone has an unique faction battleship, which would probably make him a trillionaire too.

I have wondered for a long, long, LONG time how Entity got all the money that he needed for his collection.

Two questions:
What is this 'unique faction battleship'? I thought faction battleships were like a Caldari Navy Raven... What is this trillion dollar battleship?
Second, who is Entity, and WHY do I keep hearing his name come up again and again? Why is everyone so sure he is a trillionare? |

Don't know about the battleship, but Entity is the man on a mission to collect every item in Eve. Ever.
His website with his collection: http://home.wanadoo.nl/ntt/eve/collection/index.html "Collected 7692(+87) of approximately 8319 released items (including tech1 bpos)." |

Something like an Armageddon Imperial Issue of which only 4 were given out. Entity owns 2 and 1 was destroyed. Item like those were only given out as prizes for tournaments and are very very rare. They are priceless which means that if someone wanted to sell one for a few trillion ISK they could easily get that much for it.

That's highly exaggerating the value of those ships. They'd probably would (and have) cap out around 100 billion or so.

A collector's item is worth what people will pay for it. Nobody will pay a trillion for a unique battleship - I doubt even Entity would pony up that much. The only transactions I know of for those ships are Chribba raffling off a Tribal Tempest for a combined ticket price of 100 bil, and Entity paying 80 bil for a Tribal Tempest and State Raven. Even if we're being generous and saying that they actually cost 100 bil, that's not enough to make anyone owning them a trillionaire.

Doesn't Chribba have those two Veldspar mining titans?
Certainly -that- counts for something to his wealth.
However, I do have to say that I think once people get past a certain point of wealth it no longer becomes an issue as to how much total isk they have, whether it be actual wallet amounts or isk in ships and other valuables.

Glad someone else caught that.
Personally, if I were to liquidate everything I could likely top a trillion.
As it stands now I just maintain a set percentage profit which funds my game and fun and thats enough for me. Not really much care to be the richest. |

End of the summer I should be over 3 Trillion, not including assets.
But Entity wins that game with his net worth alone.

Gee, 1 trillion ISK would have an (against the rules to realize) value in the neighborhood of $40,000 US? Am I doing my math right?
800 million buys a Plex costing 34 US$ 1 billion (1,000,000,000) then around $40 ?
10 billion $400 100 billion $4,000 , 1 trillion $40,000 .
If you could get even half of that at a wholesale price that would be worth more than a trifle in the real world; enough to pay real family expenses or pay rent etc. You'd be pretty upset if someone totaled your used car worth $20,000 . Its sort of mind numbing that people would risk getting that sort of thing shot at and vaporized.
Well, I guess the ISK isn't worth real money unless you could realize the real money, and I won't venture into how real world laws might look at the situation. I'm not really clear on the difference between plexes and GTCs and what you are allowed to give to friends or what it is that retailers sell anyway.
Even if there is no way to transfer it, if you wanted to replace 1 trillion isk through game allowed means, it would cost you upwards of $40,000 dollars. People buy small fractions of that amount every day at that rate.
Kind of funny to me.

I remember when he camped the contracts system and picked up loads of daily mistakes..
Like Ships, BPOs, Loot packs, etc all with missing zeroes or no price at all..
every once in a while (several times a day) he would note in chat: "Oh I got myself a nice contracted battleship at 1 isk" or similar..
Also he was quite well connected for massive investments and manipulation options, and got in on every bloody advantageous thing..

Truth is it was a lot easier to make money a few years ago. There were many more market opportunities than today, niches waiting to be filled all over the place. And of course those who invested in T2 BPO's like me have done well from them. I think I sit at about 1.5T when everything is counted, but I made most of that between '03 and '06. Of course my regular 6-month AWOL periods haven't helped much, I keep getting bored...
I reckon there are well in excess of 100 trillionaires in EVE personally.
