Hey everyone,
So I recently bought a hulk and decided that I want to mine veldspar in High sec just for something to do Semi afk during downtimes in my day. I am in the Amarr militia and need to steer clear of all Minimatar and Gallentte space. So I have spent weeks searching through Caldari and Amarr space with no success. I have been looking at the eve map and going to systems .6 and above with a high Astroid belt to player ratio but when I arrive every single belt has been stripped of Veldspar roids 100m and bigger. I was just wondering if I am doing it wrong or if this is just how it is.

No actually I'm having similar problems. Maybe just a higher volume of miners are surfacing? Maybe something beyond yours and mine understanding.

The best way to do things would be try and find belts that don't have stations in them. Macro miners strip the belts that have stations nearby, but they can't be arsed to haul in a non-station system. Just get a friend with an Orca (or an alt like I have) and mine into the orca. Or if you're really rich, you can set up a cheap POS to use as storage (something like a tower, some weapons and a structure that has a ****load of space in it. Large ship assemblys have about 10,000,000m3 or more I think).
That, or find a low population low sec system like I do... and mine there. Good god you should see the veld roids down there. I usually see 15000m or higher veldspar, so it's definitely worth it.

No, the best way is to move to Australia. That way DT is in the middle of your prime evening gaming time. The upside is that everything respawns while you are active. |

You don't look for veldspar in the belts, you create it. And it's not macro miners being responsible for all of this is a myth.

I keep seeing veld roids the size of small moons... Perhaps you're doing it wrong Forluhn? ^_^

Focus on mining veldspar after DT! after all belts in your system are empty jump for the other roids!

Run some lvl 1 missions, learn which ones provide good Veld, profit.

For several days in a row of all the Veld you can handle, run Level 1s (any agent, any system) until you get the mission "Break Their Will". The mission belt has 40 Veld roids 70k-80k in size, no accel gate, roids are in groups, easy rats. The belt has Scordite roids as well.
Mine for six days, complete the mission on the seventh. Rinse and repeat.

There is your problem, if you want to be an industrial enthusiast, don't join the militia. The amount of places you can effectively go is cut in half and that is a lot of systems to mine in.

This and the awesome part is that for the vast majority of level 1 and 2 missions you can use your hulk with its drones and nice tank to run them.

just wanted to confirm this. rancer defence league does make patrols of the system but it is not always safe from evil pirates
