I was being bad and I killed people in a .3 zone... it wasnt too hard on my sec, and I kept it up, untill I was at about -2. Well some idiot in a blackbird started calling me a lame pirate. Well, I did the loveing thing, and podded his sorry behind... lo-and-behold, I then had -5 sec status. (OUCHIES)
Well this was last WEEK.
Since then I have been in syndicate, killing NPC cruisers, in the 0.0 zone there.
7 days later, my sec status has gone up .9 oh yeah, I was spending about 10 hours a DAY killing pirates.
Now I have -3.8
my complaint is, I lost my cruiser. Now, I am in my punisher, with 2 options.
1. Go kill pirates for their sec status bonus.
2. Go to your Agent.
well. 1. I would have to go to a .4 or lower zone... and well... they dont tend to be frigate freindly.
and 2. my agent is in a 1.0 zone. I'm not suicidal.
so, I am stuck, docked, untill it goes up now. no-matter how long that is!
Any of you others have similar problems?!
This new sec status stuff is insane. I cant play the game for 2 weeks...
unless I create a new character, and play with it for 2 weeks... but I would rather NOT do that.

Think of it this way...
You set people back weeks by killing their ships and killing their pods (taking away skills) without being in an officially sanctioned war. Had you declared war, you wouldn't have these problems. What you did was by definition a series of criminal acts that created downtime for other players.
Now you have your downtime. Your sec going up slowly with time is there for a reason. It's how you'll get your status cleared, but only if you behave yourself. I daresay you created FAR more than 2 weeks of downtime for all your victims.
I think the system is working as intended. Consequences for crimes.

umm when u pod someone there comes consequences... if u cant handle them dont pirate, especially if u have no money to back yourself. think ahead next time...

Since then I have been podded myself.
I have killed pirates, that should have given me a +1.3 sec status modifyer, plus the daily +.1 I should be at about -2 sec status right now.
this isnt about me being a pirate. It's about me haveing NO WAY to redeem myself.
Also, I have reimbursed half the people I killed, or at least given them valuable info, worth 10x more than their ship.

To a certain point I have to agree here.I've been going after npc pirates like crazy and after better than 200 kills over the last few days my rating has gone up by .1 |

i like it.
imo the game should be impossible for lone pirates. irl organised crime is where the cash is, not street criminals. Lone pirates shouldnt stand a chance unless theyr very very careful and clearly from this post, they dont.

Hi,
it's not that bad. My sec went from 0.4 to -1.4 yesterday.
Today I made it to -1.1. I guess a couple of days and I am back to 0.0.

That's the thing, I quit pirateing 7 days ago. 7 EVE days is quite some time really...
Anyways, what I'm getting at is.
I want to quit being a pirate... long as this sec status is down, I have to stay a pirate.
so in fact, when I get my new ship, I'm going to get my secstatus to -10 and kill everyone now. despite I quite for a week.
I see how you treat retired pirates!

I didnt think 3 cruisers that cost 5mil each is worth that much...
here agian. I cant PLAY and make it back in 3 weeks, I could create a n00b char and get it back faster.

If you do the crime then you hafta do the time. I have absolutely no sypathy for someone who goes around blowing innocent people away. Then, instead of sucking it up and accepting the cost like a man you cry like a friggin little girl cuz you got busted. Too bad. Hope you get the crap knocked out of you a few more times little girl.

The curve does need to be adjusted. It's a bit absurd right now.
I finally killed enough people the other day that my 10.0 dropped to a 9.9. I've taken a short break from pirating to do some profitable gun running, so I'm killing LOADS of NPC cruisers--I'm talking 20 mil of NPC cruiser bounty. It's no matter, though. When I kill an angel liquidator, the 50k angel cruiser, my status changes by 0.0000. That's right--no change at all.
So 10.0 is 100% unattainable now. When you're at 9.9, the best NPC cruisers around don't move your status even by 0.0001. It's pretty silly.

Dig this one, it "says" you get a .003 mod, for killing a frigate, I know I killed well over 200 of them, over the last week, yet, my sec status hasnt gone up a single .1 from killing pirates.

and "I" can aquire a new ship. I am however saying. I am royally screwed, because I cant do ANYTHING but be a PIRATE. and I want to STOP... guess what?! it dont matter! I cant get my sec status up. so I will remain a pirate. and I want to quit. but I cant so... bleh!

Seems more or less reasonable that if you kill someone it should be hard to recover from the faction.
As for the rate, and means by which you recover. If you have a negative sec status and get podded yourself it might be fair to gain an immediate 0.1 or 0.2 sec status. Maybe even +1, since you have 'suffered' some for your crimes. But of course other than that it seems more or less a good curve from the negative side.
As for the getting from 0 - +10 I wonder if perhads the only way from 9.9 is to kill battleships? That wouldn't be all that bad, even if it's not easily doable. Esspecially since at the moment there doesn't appear to be any great advantage to a high sec status.

Yes and no.
I beleive Yes, I should suffer for what I did... however, the people I picked on are all flying the same ship agian... and it was only a week ago I killed them.
ALSO, I podded ONE person, and blew up about 6 frigates and 2 cruisers, and 2 indys. none were top end.
so NET value of my kills were probibally 15-20 mil (equip included)
I podded "ONE" person.
I had my maller (a 8+ mil ship) I had 5 250mm prototypes... each costing 2mil... so that's 18+ mil, not to mention, my rare ABs each worth about 500k, and then dont forget your in hauling mode, so 10,000 AM-M.
I think I suffered MORE than EVERY PERSON I KILLED COMBINED.
What I am getting at is...
I am now in a frigate. Tell me ONE way I can play the game now? Yes, I should suffer somehow... but, I cant PLAY the game.
let's go to a .8 zone and mine where the pirates are easy... nope cops will******me.
Let's go to a .3 zone where the cops leave me alone... oh nope, the pirates******me. so I have been setting in a station for last 3 days unable to do ANYTHING. Unable to MINE, Unable to KILL, Unable toget faction up.

What is this? A friggen PC pirate whine fest? Oh woe is me! I podded people in the game. I blew up their ships. Now when I kill NPC pirates the gaming gods wont give me a pat on the head!

maybe it would be reasonable if every station or system had a 'fixer' agent type person. Who you could pay off to fix your status (for some exponentially increasing fee of course), but then lowering it again would be like a double penalty.
They made the npc pirates sec changes they way they are because it was WAY too easy to fix bad faction, and I think that's still a reasonable curve in general, but for 'one time' accidentally shooting someone etc.. I can see that it's probably a bit severe.

OK, let me put things into perspecive, I only killed people for 2 days. SHIPs. I have only podded 2 thats "TWO" for those of you that dont know how to read. LOL, ok. one of those pods was in a 0.0 zone from a bounty hunter. The other was in a .3 zone, from some jerk cussing me out. I dont pod, unless you make me mad. so I'm not that bad. Ships. as I said, I blew up less than 20mil of ships. I lost my maller, and such, cost me about 16 mil... however, I cant play for at LEAST 2 weeks. my sec status is too bad. and there is "NO" way to get it up.
Name one way, I can play the game? I havent been a pirate for a ENTIRE week, I was being bad for 2 DAYS. and now I cant play for 3 weeks? I would make more money with a newbie character. I am "NOT" saying I wasnt bad, and I am "NOT" saying I shouldnt have to suffer. HOWEVER, I am NOT suffering now. ya know why? I cant PLAY to suffer. I sit in this station 12 hours a day, just doing NOTHING. why? because if I go mine, the pirates kill me, if I go to a higher sec zone cops kill me. I cant go to my agent. What should I do?!?!

It ruined his life, because he went to jail.

He thought that the 20 years he did that should have made up for the 1 day he did bad things.

Perhaps security status from pirates should be based on how many times you have broken the law. In the beginning you will get alot of sec bonuses, but the more people you kill the harder it is to redeem yourself. Making it impossible for murderers to ever be redeemed.

I was actually going to 'turn over a new leaf'.
I spent about 12 days hunting high end pirate cruisers and not killing anyone. Took me to -8.8.
I paged a GM and asked to have my status reset because the rules of the game had changed and I did not have an oppourtunity to make a decision about what to do with my character based upon that.
The GM said no.
So I went back to mara and podkilled about 60 people (in the last 2 days).
Joke'em
CCP wants me to stay a pirate, I'll stay a pirate.
