Sure you have to enter sarcasm mode as everyone knows that lots of your wingm8s ( ex-WI corp )from your alliance are less then 12 month ingame and flying 4-5 year old chars.

Buying an old high sp char allows you to fly nice ships... that you bought with the isk that you also bought...it does not let you necessarily fly them well.
As someone who could buy a char, I do not, because I am enjoying the journey.
I suppose i can see the logic in buying a specialist second account char for repping etc?

Been playing since beta, and I don't care how old my corp m8's are as long as they're not d1cks.
Its probably fair to say that eve has an older and possibly more "mature" player base (CAOD forum anyone?), but from what I've seen it doesn't make that much diff, experience tells me that an w@nker at 15 is probably going to be an w@nker at 25 or 35, being young may generally mean less mature but don't confuse that lack of maturity with stupidity and idiocy.
If people want to buy older chars for isk and they are allowed to do it what's the problem?

Said. When using a macro on older chars, people might be scared, right? |

I make a pleasant living from selling characters and have done since about 2004 so I can't complain, as long as its in the rules its fine. You have to just live with it, like the guy who has enough isk to buy a titan may have no clue how to use it properly don't make it a crime.

I think the idea might have been is for a new player. one of the good things about chasing the rest of the game populace where 99% have more skills than you is that at least you know some will quit and other ones will join after you, so you aren't at the bottom of the pile.
But if everyone always just sells on their old characters and you don't buy one, you might always remain relatively bottom of the pile.
I lolled at the people saying ebayers won't have the skills, lol, pushing buttons is a skill now?
The only thing that makes you lose in eve is ignorance.
Ignorance of whats on the other side of the gate, ignorance of the local area and its pirates, ignorance of tactics used to bait or trick someone, of game mechanics yadda yadda.
But yeah they will die horribly either way, at least for the first couple of months or so depending.

You're complaining about character trading in a game where the GAME DESIGNERS PROMOTE ISK BUYING via GTC and PLEX sales?
Did you know you could take cash, convert it to ISK via the PLEX trade, then take that ISK and buy a 2003 toon with 80M SP? CCP doesn't care as long as they get their cut of the cash.

Quote: The only thing that makes you lose in eve is ignorance.
Sigh.
... and the opposite of ignorance is knowledge.
The ability to take that knowledge and use it to achieve your objectives is called skill.
Time to take the "EVE takes no skill" argument and put it to bed. EVE takes a high degree of skill to play well, what it does not require is an over developed twitch reflex and the ability to "hop".
