Every gun/module effect got their visual changed.
What about missiles ?
We, missile lovers are stuck with pre-Apocrypha visuals and hereby demand a revamp of missile shiny kabooms >:)

as a fellow graphics wh*re i /sign this wholeheartedly.
still i cant imagine for a second that CCP arnet working on stuff like this to maintain their image as "best looking space game". |

Can you imagine for a moment, though, that torps get such a change in their impact that your client starts to stall when too many of them are going off? LOL.
I agree that something needs to be done to help missiles look better, but I don't want the client to suddenly cough when all the kabooms hit! Perhaps some smoke trails that quickly dissipate? Better impact graphics? Actual launchers on my ship instead of spawning them from the center? Not that I'm ungrateful for the cool little upgrades done on my Manticore; it can carry three siege launchers, and sure enough there are three launcher graphics on the hull! It just goes to show you that you shouldn't kneel down in front of the third rail, grab it with both hands, and **** on it from three feet away. |

/signed And not just the explosion, it'd be nice if the missile itself wasn't just a grey cone. And maybe make the exhaust look more like an exhaust and not just a random blob of light...

say u had 7 missile launchers stacked and fire at once to see all 7 missiles fire out and spiral around each other to the target. |

Yes, I know there have been plenty of "Make Eve look like my favorite sci-fi show" threads before, but there's no reasons why missiles shouldn't look like that. I don't need waves and waves of energy coming off the target every time a torp hits. Save that for the citadel torps, or when the target finally explodes. Stacking launchers doesn't mean that ONE launcher is firing 8 missiles at once, it means that 8 launchers are firing at the same time.
The problem is that missiles just spawn from the center point of the ship. They have no dedicated points like turrets do. So as far as the engine is concerned, all eight missiles are spawning from the same point at once, so it looks like a giant missile.
CCP, please space out the launcher points on ships. Even if you don't create dedicated graphics for the modules (like turrets), this will go a long way to improving missile graphics. And kindly don't do something silly, like having a launcher point be the bridge or something. It just goes to show you that you shouldn't kneel down in front of the third rail, grab it with both hands, and **** on it from three feet away. |
