(I tried posting this in the corporations forum, but it said I need to be a member of a corp with at least 10 members - Since I just left my corp and started a new one, I can't meet that, thus the posting here :) )
Hey all;
I would be curious on your comments and feedback on a piece I just finished writing about the general success of a good EVE corporation;
Treatise on the purpose & success of an EVE corporation (I promise, there are no pop-ups or spam in the URL, it's just too bloody long to post in these forums)
Obviously, I'm not the first to see the many similarities between running an EVE corporation and real-world equivalents, but I thought it might be an intereting thought excercise to write it down.
I'd be appreciative of feedback/comments/constructive criticism.
Thanks!

Obviously, a summary like that doesn't cover everything, but it's a good read. There should be a tutorial with this info in the game. It would reduce the ammount of un-provoked "ohi do U wanna join my corp" convos. |

Good Stuff. Good thing it didn't end up in COAD, it would've been trolled to hell, or not read at all. |

I think you're missing a corp type
to these:
Mining corps Pirate corps Trading corps Research corps Social clubs Mission runners Profit makers
I'd add "space holding corp" i.e. most corps/alliances in 0.0
I know you're not talking about alliances, but there are corps dedicated to pvp that are not pirate corps. on the flip side there are alliances/corps that are based in 0.0 that are not dedicated to holding territory also (balls deep for example).
the rewards are the satisfaction of holding territory - ratting and moon mining are secondary to the goal of defending/attacking.

You didn't mention the awesome effect of having a girl who giggles about men's willies and make incredibly suggestive comments on Vent all the time. That's how Dark Taboo did it and I'm sure they're not the only group of talentless virgins held together by blind hope. |
