I find it hard to believe that you make 60m isk an hour (per hulk) in empire space...
sounds like someone has never mined arkonor
Ill let you know when i can fly a hulk. And if you were wondering, i live in 0.0, ive changed from mining to ratting.

I read people saying "get out of High Sec" .. but really ... right now it seems completely and utterly pointless.
Of course there's a point, its right between the two zeros. That being said, most alliances have a policy called "NBSI" which means "Not Blue Shoot It". That means that unless your a member of a group that owns or has negotiated friendly standings with the owners, they are going to hunt you down and kill you. They will check the belts, often with a covops,or scan you down at your safe spots. Its probobally not worth the trouble to do it,even if you can find the systems with the good ores. In fact, their miners will probably be mining those systems and when they see you, they will assume your hostile. They will sound the alarm and their friends will come to hunt you down and kill you.

Edited by: Doddy on 24/06/2009 13:54:52 The types of ore varies you get depending on the true security status of the system. In 0.0 this varies from -0.01 (is equivelent to low-sec ore, sometimes worse) to -1.0 (ABCs and mercoxit throughout). Not sure of the cut-offs (havent mined in years) but generally if a system has a true sec of below -0.5 it will have ores you wont see in low sec, from below -0.7 you get the abcs and below -0.8 you get mercoxit. In exploration sites you can get better ore than you would get in normal belts so for example lo sec sites often have the poorer 0.0 ores (like dark ochre) and most 0.0 sites will have abcs. The exact types of Ore also vary by region, some regions wont have arknor, some wont have bistot etc.
Use ombeys maps to find low true sec systems with no player owned stations near where u can dock and go there after DT, then u will see the wonders of Arknor/Bistot/Crokite. The systems will generally be busy as hell though as there as the quality of rats to kill also varies by security status.
The people saying 0.0 mining is pointless are wrong, they just mean its pointless for them. Thinking a 6 week old player trained in mining should turn up his nose at Ark is stupid. On the other hand if you are simply looking for a quick and easy way of making isk then there are better ways. |
