Notice my computers clock was about 2 hours fast for some reason while I was doing some mining, so decided to sync it with a time server.
Did that, and eve locked up solid as soon as the clock had syncd.
Don't do this while ingame. :D

Agreed. I run a AtomicClock Synchronizer and for a week I could not determine why Eve was locking up or at minimal seem to suffer from complete lag death. Seems the communications of packets in eve is highly critical on time and when you happen to adjust your local clock it plays nasty games trying to catch up...
I've experimented a few times and some amazing results can happen. Not sure they should be using this method of time vs. latency but beware as Jallock states!

EVE synchronizes with the server at login. This is needed to calculate the ships positions without the lag of your connection. The client tries to keep in sync with the packets from the server, however if the time skip is too big and the time is in future, it waits until it has the "same" time.
