I'm running eve on a Pent 4 3.2 cpu with 1 gig of DDR with a Gefore 6800 with 512 ram. I've updated the video drivers and even reinstalled them to be sure. The settings in eve on the basic settings. The game keeps locking up on me and I see graphic issues where it is blinking on certain parts of the ships or station. The game was running fine on the basic client, but I don't see that for download anymore. So I am assuming with the last expansion the old client is no longer in use.
So the question is what else could it be? I've talked to a lot of people in the game and they pretty much have the same computer setup or a little worse. Does anyone else have any ideas what could be causing this issue?

Set Present Interval = Interval One (and also set all graphics contents setting to low) and see if that will alleviate the issue. |

Here's the system I run EVE on. It runs smooth and with zero latency using broadband internet access and draft N from wireless adapter to router.

I've experienced all sorts of issues running EVE on weaker systems in the past. Namely, when the action turns up EVE would tend to crash on me causing me to loose whatever I was flying. You can resolve this with ample graphics & cpu processing power and as fat an internet connectivity pipe as you can manage. The system above runs EVE with all visual settings maxed out. Ive experienced no stutter or delayed load times jumping around, and the system remains relatively cool under load ( 42C-44C ).

I had the same problem, for me it was down to my graphics card overheating (only in Eve). Turned the speed up on my case fans and all OK since (touch wood) -------------------------------------------------- 'people will always be tempted to wipe their feet on anything with 'welcome' written on it.' |

The 6800 is an ancient card to begin with...I'm sure you could spend some money to upgrade...that is, if the motherboard actually has PCI-E... |
