I have been playing for 2 weeks now, been mining to get some cash, did some agent missions, got myself some better ships etc.
I was wondering if there is anything besides mining and doing agent missions? I found the agent missions pretty boring after awhile (is there anything besides kill/courier missions?)
Could someone please tell me if there are any large quests in the game? any 'epic' quests? any storyline events? whats the end game like? (pvp? thats it?)

You can get into trading.
This involves getting to learn the market. Look for "trade goods".
Example: I find that I can buy Carbon 3 jumps away at 250isk each. Looking at the market I can see that I can sell it 4 jumps away for 350isk. So I buy a whole bunch of Carbon, pick it up, and then bring it to the other people who wanted to buy it for 350isk. I made a profit of 100isk for each carbon I boguht and resold.
That is a pretty easy and fun way to make money.
You can also buy and research, produce from blueprints (be a producer/crafter/scientist).
Or you can get a research agent and start research to get free blueprints for ships and guns etc. You can learn more about that in either the mission forum or asking in the help channel.
Then there is NPC pirate hunting. This will probably be the most rewarding thing outside of trading and mission running. I would rate it more fun then mining but might not make you the most straight isk. Plus by killing NPC pirated you have a chance to loot something you might need (rare equipment) or just generally better equipment then what you have.
And then there is always joining a corporation and becoming apart of them. mining with them. fighting with them versus pirates and other players. and generally amassing your own wealth.
So yeah I wouldnt recommend JUST solo mining and agent missions, especially if you find it boring.
Hope this helps.

Edited by: Mynobe Soletae on 20/09/2004 06:08:56 You're basically doing everything too casually. Most people actually skill up their mining or combat skills, and work their agents, for some goal. And I mean, long hours working at it. It's a MMOG.
Generally, the goal is helping your corp do something. Conquer or defend 0.0. Own a station. PvP.
Solo, you'll get bored. You already have all the ships you need, and while you can get more ships, what's the point?
End-game is player-driven. PvP or not, just being part of a team and contributing to whatever they're doing out there in 0.0. It's an MMO, not a single player epic drama with quests and a Princess just for you.

Crap, was really looking forward to rescue the damsel in distress
Its not exactly my first mmo, so I know the drill by now. I had a look at crafting but was put off by the skill & money investment required. I'll think I'll sink my teeth into trading for the next few days and see how it works out.
Thank you all for the insights but I still want my epic quest! .

Edited by: Haematite on 20/09/2004 08:26:09 damsel in distress: I get that mission twicw a day from my Level 3 Kill Agent.
Since getting to Level 3 agents, it has made my game a bit more interesting, instead of just shooting multiple Frigs, i get multi crusers to blast at.
This game is an online RPG play it like an RPG: Get into A Character and play a role in the universe.
<edit>
Their will be quest mission or multi level missions i belive when they let us have Shiva. Have a look on the info about it.
