the latest patch made my test client think its using the tranquility server and gives me a incopatibility error. can any one help

That happens to me sometimes, the simplest fix I had was to completely re-copy and try the patch again
also

And from that folder you created a shortcut which you put on your desktop and changed the target line to something like this...
E:\EVE\eve.exe /server:87.237.38.50 |
