foxden Caldari Russian Specnaz Red Alliance	Posted - 2009.06.25 20:12:00 - [1] Many of you already know that one of the enemy alliance was an attempt to seize control of our alliance. As a result of manipulation of the shares they managed to seize control of one of the oldest corporate alliance. All POS corporation was offline claim and lost sovereignty in systems with stations. The situation in the alliance is fully under the control of its leadership. All standings and agreements with allies remain the same.

Thanks, Securitas RA and Goons have a lot of history, back when Goons wanted back out in 0.0 and RA was under pressure they hooked up and the massive numbers Goons have mixed with the then fearsome capital fleet of RA kicked ass across the south east, then RA lost some of the big corps and stopped being a major force in Eve. That said I too think that RA have reached the end of their lifecycle, but who knows, one thing history should have taught us is, never count RA out.

They may be coasting on that notoriety for being a pain in the ass to remove...but we still have to see if thats true. so here's to the thousand year reign of RA, but personally i dont support u - uve held that space way too long

Not to mention that in order to support RA TCF and goons would have to leave their own space unguarded, which makes it strategically disadvantageous to prop up RA at this time. My guess would be that GS will try to help RA take catch or somewhere else in the south from -A- or the stain wagon group, that would strengnthen both groups positions, as well as probably being better space now that the cosmos constelations are gone.

Oh I understand the cap fleet has been deployed, but I don't think they're in a position to maintain an extended deployment. Whatever the average goon is, the leadership over there isn't stupid, I'm betting on a fighting withdrawal that will allow strategic assets to be evaced. They'd be able to redeploy from a defensible position then. Alliance warfare is a game of logistics, look at the position RA put themselves into, they had an out, and they had enemies on their southern border, if they'd thought it through they'd have gone to work on the southerners and left the drone regions alone, they'd agreed to a withdrawal and that would have bought RA a month or two at least to build up. Instead they invaded ER, while they calculated correctly that they could probably take out ED they miscalculated several secondary factors which became critical: -The wherewithal of the northern forces to continue the war. -The security of their southern allies -The loyalty of scorched earth -and most critically, their own ability to defend their own space while deployed to ER. These factors taken together were too much and RA didn't have the resources to cope with them all at once. If TCF/Goons do try an extended deployment, they'll be putting themselves in a similar position to what RA did when they invaded ER. It doesn't matter if you can win the war on foreign ground if doing so drains you of the necessary assets to defend yourself.
