My display runs in 1600x1200 and when I set EVE to run in 1600x1200 windowed mode, it also runs in 1600x1200 and then wraps the window frame around it which means that the entire window does not fit on the display.
Under XP we could work around this by just pushing the window frame off-screen to the top. Windows 7 (and I believe Vista before it) have a default feature to prevent people pushing the window off screen. Thus when running EVE in windowed mode under Win 7 I can't see the Corp Hanger button unless I run in a smaller resolution (or switch to fullscreen which I do not wish to do).
LotRO windowed mode automatically shaves a few pixels off the game display to accomodate a frame. Please incorporate this feature! (Not doubt a lot easier than a truly scalable window mode)

ich really hate it if i have to create custom screen resolutions in the grafic drivers to fix the bugs of the game programmers.
a game in windowed mode should be the selected resolution incl. the window around it. |

?? i run vista, windowed 1600x1200 on a monitor the same size, as yours. I run evemon (ofc) with its window filling option, its always spot on perfect, try it if your not already. If you are, then i'm as stumped as you are, no idea why it would be different for me and you. (unless ur running 7, which ive no idea about) |

I trialled the Win 7 Build 7100 last week and discovered the new feature that keeps windows from being pushed off screen. So I am still running XP but I would like to run Win 7.
I do not run Vista but I am told that it has the same feature. Whether that is true is not important. Vista will be forgotten soon when Win 7 is released. Since Win 7 is almost here (due for Q3 or Q4 release I think) then this is a Very Important issue for CCP to fix. I doubt that the EVEMon solution will work under Win 7.

Well, you doubt that evemon's repositioning is working under w7, but I do know it does work. Also EveHQ's repositioning stuff work under w7.
Though, this would be really nice to have it included in the client. To have eve working properly, you need a 3rdparty tool right now. (Sidenote CCP: The problem with fullscreen mode, you can't Alt-TAB. it messes up things)

It does work under 7? That's great. Thanks for the tip. Does EVEMon help when I want to run a 2nd session on my 2nd display?
Yes, it would be better if we didn't have to rely on 3rd party apps, thus this thread! |
