hai!
I'm a little confused about t2 invention on modules as I've always done it on ships, but recently decided to make my own t2 modules as well.
Basically, how the heck do i get a 10-run X-large shield booster II bpc from a 10-run T1 x-large shield booster bpc? From what little I've read on module invention (not much available to read btw) decryptor's matter... But let's say I wanted a me -4 / pe -4 X-large shield booster II bpc .. What'd I have to do? What decryptor? How many runs would I need on the T1 bpc? |

Decryptors aren't worth using on modules. Use a max run T1 BPC to get a 10 run T2 BPC. |

ah right, so, it's divided by 10... LEads to another question, some ships BPC's have max runs of 15, invention on that will be rounded down right? i.e, can never get higher then 1-run without decryptors? |

Yes ships are always 1 run without decryptors. |

Not sure if youre misunderstanding, or ive just misread, but just incase, its not 10 times the number of runs you want, but instead if you have a max run input bpc (300 runs on modules usually, 1500 on drones for instance) you will get a 10 run output t2 bpc.
For every part of 10 percent less max runs (i.e. 270-299 runs for modules) you get 1 less run on the output bpc.
And yes, ships give 1 run no matter what the input bpc runs are, without decryptors, if you use decryptors its either 0+decryptor bonus (for non max run) or 1+decryptor bonus (for max run) number of output runs.

This forum should have a simple sticky that reads.
BPCs for invention.
Modules -> always use a max run BPC Ships w/ decryptor for bonus runs -> always use a max run BPC Ships w/out a decryptor for bonus runs -> always use a single run BPC
Wherever you went - Here you are.

Since you've managed to deduce the / 10 part, here's the rest of the formula ;)
Output Runs = min(max( round down ( (InputBPCRuns / T1MaxRunsPerBlueprintCopy) * (T2MaxRunsPerBlueprintCopy / 10) + DecryptorRuns ), 1), T2MaxRunsPerBlueprintCopy)
It's actually the T2 max runs that are /10. The input max runs are simply used as a multiplier, anything less than max runs and you start losing runs, however given that there's a minimum of 1 run, in some cases this doesn't matter. When you're using a decryptor though, the minimum of 1 run isn't taken into account until after the decryptor runs are added, so you potentially lose a run here. |
