Edited by: Chimaera7 on 21/09/2004 00:19:09 I am getting a bit sick of these things, and need to know what ship or weapons and tactics if you can advise to use.
Thank you in advance!

If it comes within 10 km, it can be webbed. Without its speed, an interceptor isn't so much of a threat anymore, unless it is also within range of using its weapons against you, in which case you had better kill it before it does you. Once its speed is down to that of a rather fast frigate, it's no harder than an actual frigate.
The last interceptor (a Claw) I killed was stupid enough to come against my battleship, took my 2 heavy nosferatus in its face, was unable to keep flying with MWD on and ate a handful of cruise missiles before he could get out of my nosfs' range. That was a stupid pilot -- don't count on pilots to be stupid, but do make use of it if they are. --- I bring you joy, I bring you pain, I bring you some sunshine And some rain. |

2 sensor dampeners activated on an interceptor will essentially cripple it. most leet ceptor pilots are too chicken**** to get within webbing range.

Unless said interceptor is a Taranis, in which case staying outside of webbing range will also hamstring your own damage potential.
On a sidenote: In my (limited) experience: To bring down an interceptor, you need to use nosferatus (BS sized, preferrably, as 1-2 will drain it to zero), a 20K warp scrambler, possibly a webber, and drones.
And an MWD. It's not much use having an Inty warp scrambled, when it'll be outside of 20K in a few secs. *Shrugs*
but if you do lay a webber on one, then sit back and watch him panic as he sees a wave of drones moving in on him, see his feeble guns ***** harmlessly off on your armor, and smile. ;)

Depend what you fly. The pure nastiest way to drop a player interceptor (not NPC, doesn't work) is to whack their capacitor (Large neutralizer or nosferatu, 21 KM range) then kill them with medium (NOT heavy) drones.
If you are trying a purpose-built interceptor-killer, try a Thorax with 100MN AB, webber, warp scrambler and small guns/medium drones.
BW
PS. If you meant NPC interceptors, they are easily killed with medium drones once you have neutralized the NPC battleships and cruisers (so your drones last more then a few seconds outside your drone bay).

Cool, congrats.
Oh, stupid idea by the way.

I find moa with dual web , dual mwd, 2 launcher, 4 small ion blasters very suitable for inty hunting.
As for npc interceptors, wasps work great once they come into range :) And they do that quickly. ----------------------

Any ship with missiles + nosferatu can make easy work of ceptors. Just launch a few cruise and nos him when he gets within 20km, cruise should catch up when his mwd turns off. ------------------------------------------

Soooo you suggest leaving it unwebbed so it can moved to whatever range it wants
IMO currently the best was to kill inties is with a dual mwd cruiser, when you have it properly setup interceptors either have to warp before you get in scram range or die.... all of this for a nice cheap price.
NB. dual mwd... either 2x 10mn mwd or preferable 100mn ab 10mn mwd
Mostly harmless |

lol id love people to sit right next to my ranis, about a 1k optimal range with a 8.75 dmg mod avg 70-90 dmg every 1.75 with my best wrecking of 296 so far. inters shuoldnt go against bs (unless its a fleet) ive taken out most cruiers with launchers before they have fired a second volly, drones are a good way, only one cruiser ive had a problem with and thats an armor taking caracle, but that still died with me on half armor.
