Edited by: Acinom on 28/06/2009 19:31:43 Thanks again for taking time to do the podcast.
Was curious if you would ( or have already ) created your own channel inside Eve. Like that of the drone bay?
Also in response to last weeks talks. About moving level 4s out of empire space. I think that majority of mission runners would just gripe and then do level 3s. I say this because if they wanted even more isk now then they can run level 5s now in low sec
I do say this never running a level 5. Might be close to impossible with a single battleship. But still could band together. Heard it was better then macro mining for profit
just my .02 isk worth

Cant actually remember what we talked about last week (i was drunk as usual ).
Recently ive been thinking that just moving level 4 agents to low sec or making the low sec ones payout vastly more isn't necessarily going to fix lowsec. Cant help feeling that having some activities that are unique, fun and aimed towards PvP (smuggling for example) added to lowsec space would make it abit more inviting. Will proberbly talk about it on a later episode or maybe even dip my toe in the blogging world. Anyway thanks for the feedback.

Edited by: Forlorn Wongraven on 28/06/2009 21:20:54 Level 5 missions are pretty undoable. You get 95% of faction missions - which will lock you out of half the space - reward is too low for that penalty. |

Oh and on the subject of a Podded Channel. Not sure tbh, we dont do live shows (yet) and neither of us tend to be logged in while were recording. Not sure if there's really a point to having our own channel. Will probably look at it sometime in the near future. |

Edited by: Meyr on 28/06/2009 21:33:36 Downloading the latest now, but thought I'd point something out about lowsec:
Most 0.0 space is safer than most lowsec because in 0.0, you're fitted properly, and both sides accept the conditions, and have roughly equal risk versus reward, especially in small gang combat.
Until it's equally as risky for the pirates as it is for the PVE'rs they want to prey upon, lowsec is going to stay the way it is. Unless they're willing to make lowsec missions pay 10 times (or more) what they do now, there's no payoff for risking your ship and clone. Until running missions effectively requires the same fits as PVP, the pirates will continue to have the vast majority of the reward, for far too little risk. Under those conditions, most of us "carebears" simply refuse to accept the arrangement, and stay out of there.
Make the odds a little more equal, and you'll get more fights.

I couldnt agree with you more. I think that's why its a shame that many new players are introduced to PVP for the first time when their agent sends them to low sec and they are killed either on the first gate in or are scanned down while missioning and killed. Unless newer players are as lucky as i was to get into 0.0 quickly then low sec for many players will be the only experience they have of PVP. If thats the case it's no wonder many players never move out of high sec. Co-host of PODDED Podcast http://podded.libsyn.com/ |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure my first PvP death was when I was in low sec missioning and didn't know better. Mind you, it had the reverse effect and I ended up living in low sec, but I can see why it doesn't work that way for everyone.
Great as always guys, and thanks for the shout out! Made me smile.

Finally got some time to listen to this episode. I like the focus of ingame news and alliance stuff. I can read patchnotes myself... When you recorded it I guess the change with freeform contract was not up yet in the notes. So no scams with freeform contracts anymore. Keep up the good work - you are the best podcast out there.

Yeah we decided that we don't really want to cover huge amounts of patch notes. Atraxerxes normally covers them on Fly Reckless so we figured theres not much point in us doing the same and we did have alot of null sec news to cover and discuss. Glad you like the show mate.

Great show as usual.
On the topic of the CSM and the Q%A devblog, I completely agree that the first 5 answers were lacking in substance for the most part, but I wouldn't blame the CSM for that nor write them off as useless.
As I understand it, the CSM's purpose is to bring items of concern and ideas/requests to the attention of the developers and in that regard they have done a great job.
Cheers, KK

Think our anger was more at CCP tbh. If the CSM is pointless its because CCP has made it that way. Its stupid that they offer to answer questions, then dont intend on answering them properly. Nothing against the CSM candidates themselves.
