To all the people that canÆt seem to read news and such. Has anyone thought about the firewall update that china has mandated? Just wondering, I mean you can look at **** on here with all the damsels in distress. China has blocked medical website because it contain things of sex.
Just my theory but then again if CCP DID drop the BAN hammer then all the *****ing and moaning all you have been doing (including myself) would have been quoted when CCP posted that ôthey did ban peopleö. Something like the POS exploit for reactions.

Probably will have no effect, one the Macro's are already breaking the law due to timers been required (max of 4 hours game play a day before your character attributes start to drop),also all games in china require that the coms are open to the authorities. This is part of the reason for Eve china (serenity I think it called). Also China has said the filter will be option in that you do not have to have it installed and you can remove it.
CCP ban macro's, they normally wait till they have got a chain, form isk generation all the way to isk transfer and then nuke the lot. This way its harder for them to rebuild. The last time i heard figures it was something like a 1000 accounts they banned in one go. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

Is this the thread that says that the FANBOI are wrong and the big ban stick was not taking out cause it would hurt CCP's bottom line. CCP will not openly ADMIT that they need the chinese isk seller subs to keep a float?
Just look at plex falling on the prices.

WTS T3 tinfoil hat for morons who can not comprehend basic economics. You know, the improved model, for when not even a T2 tinfoilhat is enough.
Yeah, CCP needs ISK sellers the same way they need a bullet hole in their head.
First off, you realize that ISK sellers would never bother paying their subs with cash, they'll almost always pay their subs with GTC/PLEX bought for ISK, right ? If CCP WERE really desperate about getting more cash, why the hell permit some random ISK seller to clog the server, just so they can make ISK that gets sold PARTIALLY as compensation for GTC/PLEX (into CCP pocket), but mostly for cash that never reaches CCP... when they could themselves easily just "fake" GTC/PLEX purchases to levels so high the real RMTers could never ever hope to compete with, while also not requiring anything other than a database value modification ?
Seriously, I don't know why do you even bother.

CCP *may* not need to do much to get rid of a lot of macros and ISK sellers: China Bans Gold Farming
In other words: China is no longer allowing the sale of in-game items and currency as a valid business model. Maybe they will go somewhere else in the world, but there is a possibility that they will just go away.

Goodnight Shanghai for eve china?
Since it was ccp themselfs that said that they had nothing against rmt practices on eve's china shard, because it was "in their culture" one wonders what impact it will have.

Eh? Have I missed something?
Ban? Macros?
You do all realise that no macro-miners will result in a shortage of minerals, meaning less ships, modules, etc. to go around, right?
This means prices for everything would rise due to increased demand. At the same time, mission rewards would stay at the same level as now, meaning mission-runners would struggle financially, and thus the income of indy chars/corps would plummet as people would be buying less.
Like it or not, ISK-sellers are much more important to the EVE economy than many of you may want to admit. Without them we could well have a recession of our very own to deal with...

Why would any of this be a bad thing? The entire basis of EVE is competition over (theoretically) limited resources, removing the vast avalanche of macro'd minerals from the market and making that concept meaningful sounds like a good start. Just because increased prices or even ship scarcity are bad for your personal wallet, doesn't make it bad for the game as a whole.
