So, I'm sitting in a station, sorting out some cargo that needs moving, and suddenly a convo request flashes up on the screen from someone I don't know.
Removed his name, no need for that, but this is the brief conversation that followed:
Dini Mueter > What's up? ************ > can i be your slave? Dini Mueter > huh? ************ > please Dini Mueter > I'm not sure I understand? ************ > i will be your slave if you want one miss Dini Mueter > lol Dini Mueter > I'm not a miss, I'm a guy. Dini Mueter > You're barking up the wrong tree :P Dini Mueter > Good luck searching though ;-) ************ > ok sorry for annoying you Dini Mueter > np ************ > l8er
So there it is. Anybody else got any weird stories to share? :-)

Nothing wierd I can recall revolving around players, but plenty involving graphics:
The old "double-ship in my hanger" (I have a great picture somewhere that convincingly looks like my Caracal is humping my Crane).
The old "Yo-Yo Gate" (good, Im at the Gate. No wait, here it comes again!)
Planets go Suddenly Psychedelic.
The sad thing is these things have all happened at least once in the past month after a long absence. Last words:-á Either that wallpaper goes, or I do. ~~ Oscar Wilde, writer, d. November 30, 1900 |

Seriously, the weirdest stuff is in the meta-game, communications, and graphics probably.

I've gotten convos like this while sitting in Jita on my alt. It's really jarring. There are spammers for hookups in Jita. Number of calories in a cubic lightyear of ham http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=number+of+calories+in+a+cubic+lightyear+of+ham |

And people wonder why im a forum troll who sees EVE as a one stop shop for lonely basement dwellers I dont normally troll, but when i do i do it on General Discussion. |

Well, what was the reaction to THAT ? Someone tried to convince me to send them ISK, which they would graciously accept on behalf of -A-, so that I could rent a system from them.
It was rather amusing though, it turns out wandering into hed-gp and yelling "DO NOT SHOOT, I COME ON DIPLOMATIC BUSIZNEZZ" is actually a pretty fun way to waste an hour.

I guess one of the more surreal incidents was while doing an Incursion a guy in my fleet playing in in Japan started freaking out about everything moving & we were hearing alot of background sounds of things crashing. For about a minute he was talking about how huge a quake was hitting him. Being from California I started telling him to leave computer & head for high ground... 10-30 minutes later I was watching CNN's live coverage of the tidal waves sweeping across Japan An' then [email protected], he come scramblin outta theTerminal room screaming "The system's crashing! The system's crashing!"-Uncle RAMus, 'Tales for Cyberpsychotic Children' |

In a roundabout similar (but less horrifying ultimately) way while on the phone with a friend in San Jose, I discovered it takes exactly 10 seconds for the Quake Wave to travel from San Jose to San Francisco. I wouldn't really say weird, it was to be expected, but I took part in a large fleet battle with around 1100 in local for 6 hours. I spent that time targeting, firing, dealing with module lag, hitting targets well outside my target range, failing to target targets close to me and waiting forever to warp to targets over 150k away, etc. etc.
That's not the weird part, the next day when I saw the killboard I was one of the first handful to die and had actually died within the first 3 minutes of the fight, so basically I wasted 6 hours haunting the system.
I might have had a weird moment with a guy in jita who is always asking where the naughty women are, I threw a comment out that wasn't meant to be taken seriously, the next thing I know I'm getting a convo. I didn't bother entertaining it and closed the accept window. |

OMG I totally believe that happened. A true moment of "Welcome to EVE Online".

Well dunno if this counts as weird, but my CEO once sent me 6 billion of the corps ISK by accident. He was supposed to send me 60m to pay for some fuel, so I guess he wasn't counting his zeroes
I gave it back of course, minus the sixty mil and a 40m stupidity tax

There are a lot of very lonely people in EVE who use this game as a surrogate social life.
its why they get so heated as they get emotionally attached to it.
Its a girl and they never speak to them as have no opportunity.

A teamspeak recording of the incident would be sublime.
