I have been playing EVE since day one, was a BETA TESTER and I have 8 accounts, but still no keys? WTF CCP.
Canceled All 8 EVE ACCOUNTS.
NO BETA FOR ME THEN NO MORE MONEY FOR YOU.
Take that to the bank and spend it.
PS EVERY EVE player in the game should have got a beta key on day one, we deserver it, for putting up with you **** for the last 10 years.

Ouch...butthurt much? I am sure they are sending them out in order of beta signup or something like that. They cant just invite everybody all at once or we would crash the servers and testing would be pointless.

Doubt it, I signed up on day one (no invite yet)  I would guess it is a case of invites comming in waves though |

You realize how cheap it is to create another account temporarily right? It pretty much is just the difference between PLEX buy and sell orders... You do that a few times and voila, 4x odds for 51 days. While probably not the most efficient use of your time, if the beta means that much to you, it might be worth it. If you can't work out/find the details, drop me a mail and I'll help you out. And if by some miracle you end up with an extra key, I wouldn't turn that down either :D |

I bought a PS3 for Dust. Haven't got a Beta key and not really expecting one anymore, but I'll still buy Dust when it hits release and I'll have it for that. Till then, it does what its done for the last 10 months: Collect Dust and play Blu-rays.

CCP have never said that beta keys will be handed out to the players who have the most accounts or have been a subscriber for the longest. You are no more entitled to a key than anyone else. So quite the entitled attitude. You're being a child about it. You'll get your invite when it arrives. Please excuse the tautology but seriously man. Chill out.
Otherwise keep on cutting your nose off to spite your face. I honestly don't think unsubbing a mere 8 accounts will do anything to change their invites policy, only person you're pissing off is yourself.
In case you're wondering though, Dust is frakking awesome, been playing all weekend. |

In fairness, the OP has a point.
DUST will impact on EVE. It is critical that the EVE ~ DUST interactions are correctly tested, by veteran EVE players. Someone who beta tested EVE and stuck around for the duration is superbly placed to be able to give informed feedback on what will happen in EVE as a result.
So yes, if CCP want DUST to succeed without harming EVE in the process, they should guarantee that people like the OP in in the beta. If I was a DUST dev reading this forum, I would be contacting the OP right now because you want people who are passionate about EVE to be passionate about DUST, and you need people with genuine depth of experience in EVE to be able to give you feedback.
So ya, don't flame someone for calling CCP out on being dumb when CCP have missed an opportunity. I don't follow DUST closely, but if there is still time they really should remedy this particular blunder, get the OP In there, and give him as much detail of the EVE side interactions as they dare to get his thoughts on them.
I will say for my own part that there are already items in EVE that have goofed to reveal DUST EVE side information. I am sure that text for that schematic wasn't meant to be showing yet ... so yes, better test things.

I can see it now: DUST releases, but all the DUST players only get to use combat knives, because CCP forgot that making components to make bullets to make real weapons takes time in EVE, and that things have to be shipped once made then shipped again to be sold. DUST needs to be properly beta tested, by EVE players too.  |

I got a bit disappointed when they dished out 5,000 keys to random basement dwellers who compared it to "Halo".
I got discouraged (and slightly amused) as well when those same people couldn't figure out how to get guns/vehicles.
However, I will be solemnly pissed if I get my beta registration key before my Mordu's Private Trials key. |

and I also bought a PS3 specifically for Dust, though atm I've distracted myself by forcing myself to play through the Uncharted series.
IT IS AWESOME.
seriously, all of you guys that bought a PS3 just for Dust (and maybe waiting for keys), GO BUY THESE GAMES. 3rd person FPS/beat-em-up/Adventure combo. if you have a PS3 and do NOT own these games, then SHAME ON YOU.
Uncharted 1 is pretty good, Uncharted 2 is 10x better, and Uncharted 3 makes Uncharted 1 look like Doom.
but complaining that you have 8 accounts and don't have a key yet (whooppee, I have a good number, but not qquite that much, and still don't have one) and quitting EVE because of it (WTF mate) is just stupid.
go play Uncharted, or the HD Prince of Persia (trilogy or standalone game), or HD Devil May Care, or......it's not Dust, but hey, at least you're using your PS3 for something! |
