When are sentries supposed to shoot? I thaught they where supposed to shoot anyone with -5 or lower in security rating automatically. A guy with -8 flew right past me and the sentries didnt do anything. Can anyone clarify the rules about this?

Sentries only shoot those who are criminally flagged to the system. People become criminally flagged when they shoot a non-outlaw and other such stuff as secure cans, drones, etc. Sentries do not shoot anything automatically, even NPC's which is a bit odd :) You can probably find out more info on criminal flagging under Support.

Sentries only shoot those who are criminally flagged to the system. People become criminally flagged when they shoot a non-outlaw and other such stuff as secure cans, drones, etc. Sentries do not shoot anything automatically, even NPC's which is a bit odd :) You can probably find out more info on criminal flagging under Support.

They only shoot unlawfull citizens in .5 and above (below -2 sec rating you cant enter 1.0 and with a -5 orso rating you cant enter .5 etc.).

They only shoot unlawfull citizens in .5 and above (below -2 sec rating you cant enter 1.0 and with a -5 orso rating you cant enter .5 etc.).

only the faction navys shoot at you when your security status is too low to be in a system, not the sentrys. they only shoot if you're criminally flagged, or are commiting an act of aggression in front of them.
