How can one lower his/her ideals? If CFS lowers its ideals it ceases to be a Coalition of Free Stars, its better for it to change its name and become like the rest of the alliances - chasing wealth and power. And that would be a slap in the face for all those who believe in the ideals of CFS.
I am a former resident of CFS space and not an alt, if that adds some weight to my words.
You are right, CFS is CFS because of the Free Space Bill. Skip the bill, and you have no more CFS. ---

If you cannot maintain the freespace, then you should try a other way. And as i said in a earlier post. Do whatever you can to get on top, and then reinforce any policy you desire. CFS needs to get strong first before its really "free space". Too much foes (for CFS members) are flying around there while there arent many people to stop them from flying.
Oh and to point to the 1st post, I dont know if CFS should and/or could trust CA. That is for the mighty people to decide ;). <insert referal to the first part in this post here>.

Success by use of any means, is just another form of dropping the ideals that the CFS is founded upon and going against the very nature of the people that live there. The idea just simply isn't compatible. Either the CFS succeeds by living the way they choose to live, or they do not. There is no middle ground here.

More often, what is considered the easier path, and what is considered the right thing to do, aren't going to end up being one and the same. Sometimes you simply have to make hard choices, suck it up and get on with it.
I've never thought that the way we choose to live is the easy way, I can think of several changes that would be fast and effective, but would also completely kill what it is we believe in. Hell, there used to be a time people in CFS space would hesitate to kill an alt in a noob ship. Some things change, others simply aren't possible without fundamental changes to what we stand for. Until then, Free Space stands.

All this talking about CA's self-proclaimed role of Robin Hood is amusing to say to the least. Here's why:
Person A punshes Peron B because B does not dislike C. Person A then expects Person B to hit Person C...
CA says they expect CFS to rise up against FA but at the same time attack CFS (reasons don't matter, unless you believe in the above reverse psychology). Fact is CA attacks CFS on a daily basis, the vast majority of friendly casualties consists of CFS ships, not FA.
What makes CA think they will ever earn CFS' sympathy?

I don't think 'sympathy' is the word you wanted to use.

Perhaps the word meant would be 'cooperation'. Failing that, the word 'subservience' comes to mind. Either way, unlikely.

Sympathy as in sharing a mutual feeling towards FA.
