Dear all,
I've search the forum but I cannot seem to find anything, and through a Google search and the "Art of Eve" book I've come up with some pictures but not enough of actual Caldari Officers. I am looking to cosplay as one at Otakon and I want to try to be as "official" as possible.
We're thinking similar to Battlestar Galactica style uniforms, and I found the pics in the Eve Chronicles that supports the idea and gives some detail but not a lot.
Does anyone have any links or suggestions? I'd much appreciate it!

Try looking around the EVE chronicles, there might be one there.

It was either the last alliance tournament or the one before that which featured a senior Caldari navy official on the webpage announcing the tournament.
There's also that picture of the Caldari woman with the oversized firearm. There's a male Caldari military official in that picture as well. I believe this was an illustration from one of the chronicles. Also there's someone who was at Fanfest 07 with this tattoo'd on their upper back 
I'd have commented on it to them but I was too busy shivering my ass off trying to find the warm water at Blue Lagoon.

This is the image you see at the character creation screen since... forever. Also available as a wallpaper.
Doesn't look like a military soldier though.

Thanks for the info so far. I didn't know about the Alliance Tournament pic, I hope I can find it. The others I'd seen but they don't show quite enough of the body though it gives a good idea of what it might be.
I've got the ones in the Eve-Chronicles which are a bit better but I'm hoping for a few more for reference.

Found it.
It doesn't show a sidearm, but I implore you to think rationally about that part of your costume. A lot of the weaponry featured in sci fi is, I'll say it, stupidly large. Even if it was made of an ultra light material it'd still fail tactically for its size. Just stick something in a normal holster that's got some neat looking gadgets attached to it.

And yeah, we're looking for something more functional than extravagant. The Caldari would probably go more for function over form.

Well, I must say that I have had the pleasure of meeting one Xenex McScott and seeing the fruits of his labor. It was very well-designed and appeared fairly practical. Alas, my camera broke shortly before making the trip to Otakon, and thus I was unable to get any pictures to post here.
It's definitely something impressive you've managed to do, Xenex. Keep it up! |
