I did build in a bit of a cushion to cover any unforseen expenses. The best rate I was quoted at for having a carrier built was about 600-750 million each, depending on the faction. If you know someone who can do it for less, I'm all ears. If I have any extra, that would go towards drones for the winners... if I can get them each 5-10 drones, I think that would knock out any excess.

Yeah...so I'm a DJ as well, just don't have it in front of my name, as I thought it might sound stupid if I was DJ Miss Emopants. Anyway...we are all in this DJ gig because we enjoy talking to people and helping the EVE community. I'm sure if anyone of us DJs scammed anyone, Mr. Blades would personally rip their balls off. I'm not sure what would happen to me, but at any rate, honestly...I have never taken a penny from my DJ char's account, and I have paid for a lot of stuff directly from my main, as well as random donations from my main.
So quit *****ing and being all like "They are just like EVE bank, blah blah blah," because you are kind of ruining this for everyone else. I've been on during Apoc's shows and they are some of the coolest ones I have seen, and one of the most original game show ideas I have seen (I'm also going to take this time to plug Adragon Technochrist's show for originality *plug*).
So...with the seriousness out of the way...

Having a stellar reputation is what makes a scam work... Having said that i don't think anyone in their right mind would ruin a reputation they've built up for 5+ years for the worth of 2 carriers... It would be beyond stupid...

Unless this "game of chance" is sanctioned by CCP, it should be moved elsewhere and not clutter GD.

B) Because the forums move quickly and stuff like this tends to get lost unless bumped up occasionally, especially in this case when its an advert for something thats not happening for a while.
Also i want to add my voice to those who say Eve radio DJs are not only trustworthy but a standup bunch of people whom i would trust with my isk in a second. In all Ive won things from 4 different DJs over the past 6 months ranging from a pair of Hulks and 50 million isk from DJ Hemlock to an Archon carrier from our very own and very lovely Missemopants. In every case the prize was delivered in full within 1 hour of me winning it.
Eve radio has always had a stellar reputation for delivering what they promise and in my mind its fully deserved and should be respected.

First, it is an advertisement for a game of chance ... which does not belong in GD unless approved by CCP. Second, according to forum rule 12, "Spamming, bumping and pyramid quoting are prohibited." This is the end of my "contribution" since this thread should either be moved or die a quick death.

As a nobody in this game who's been playing since '05, You'll have the check I'm not in game right now. I full support anything that Radio Eve does. I'll certainly have to check my log on times to see if i can join in this comp.
I was a good friend of DJ Moz, and loved his solaris (1 on 1 frig battles (T1 frigs only)) back when he used to run them. Loved listening to his show too, good music. BTW What ever happened to DJ Moz, I took a break and when i came back he'd disappeared

I'm intrigued with this idea.
At 3 mil ISK a square, I'd take 4.
I'd have to look into EVE radio and see how it all works in the game. I've listened in when GoonSwarm and BoB were slugging it out, it was easily one of the most entertaining radio shows I've heard.
Although I can see where people would be distrustful, you can't be paranoid all the time [well, you can, but that's not actually a fun pathology]. 12 mil ISK is throw away money. If you only buy one square and you find out you're scammed you paid a really cheap price to find out who you can't trust. They did you a favor.
Losing a pittance is something you recover from real easy. Losing a good ship is far more costly. Losing a good reputation takes mere seconds and you'll never get it back. As we gain maturity it dawns on us that reputation is easily one of the most fragile assets in our inventory. It is very important and exquisitely fragile. I would scoff at the idea of giving up my reputation for 2 billion in fake money [and of course, there are people who don't care about that at all].
Slightly over 4% chance to win a Gallente carrier, sign me up!

Abulurd, just a quick FYI - it's 20 million a square for this competition, max 5 squares per person. As a Carrier costs anywhere from 500-750 million (that I've found), the costs need to be a BIT higher to cover those ships, + drones for the winners if there are any overages. My normal comp I run is only 3 million a square - I'd be more than happy to sign you up for that one if you wish.... I'll be running 3 of them between now and this big comp on July 31st. I currently have a fitted and rigged Navy Vexor as well as a fitted and rigged Vigilant among other prizes, so there's some good stuff in my normal shows too :)

Just a tip; Turn your corp ticker on in the eve forums settings, it may seem like a small task but having someone claim to be a DJ with no corp ticker or anything to show that they are indeed in the Eve-Radio corp, is a bit of a putoff.

on a slightly more serious note competitions like this are why i love eve radio. Every DJ not only gives of their own time to do shows but also puts time and effort into runnning great competitions. I know it sounds a bit sycophantic but i want to see things like this succeed because i believe eve radio deserves it, SO BUY MOAR SQUARES DAMN IT!!!

Do you have to be present and active within the game to win the prize? In previous games, I have seen other people who were winners, but not participating, lose their prize to the next available player.

You need to be in the EVE-Radio channel, so yes to in game. You do *not* need to be in any particular system. I will be accepting proxy nominations up to 30 mins before the start of my slot (0000 GMT), so if you find out you're not going to be able to make it, if you choose a proxy I can accept their votes, and I will contact you after the contest ends to find out what you want made :)
