I am not going the easy route for missions, which seems to be caldari and a missle boat, but I am a little nervous about starting level 3's with my Amar character.
Would anyone be so kind as to share some setups/skills I need for starting level 3's as an amar.

Amarr is easy mode also. Take a look at the Harbinger, you will like it. There are a bunch of viable mission running setups, stop by battle clinic or use the evemon recommended ship fittings tool.
Skill wise, aim for t2 reps/armor hardeners and t2 pulse guns w/ scorch.
Being able to use 5 t2 light drones would also be a bonus.

Sit in a Harbinger.
As i started i used (all tech 1 except the Heat Sink):
Low: Medium Armor Repair I Damage Control. 2-3 Hardeners of your choice. Heat Sink II (if you don't need that many Hardeners/DCM add more).
Medium: 1 x Afterburner I 3 x Cap Recharger (going Tech II here really helps)
High (fill this last): As many *Large*-Guns as possible but make sure to use all Slots and fill up with Medium ones (i think i started with 2-3 heavys and 3-4 mediums, now i have 5 heavys and 2 mediums iirc... I could probably swap one more Large in there now but didn't bother yet).
Begin, there is no need for any T2 to start lvl 3's...
I didn't even have Droneskills (none at all, 0)... I'll never forget that epic fight with that lonely remaining Elite-Frigate in Angel Extravaganza :p.
Well thats what ive done. Had to warp out a few times in the Missions that throw good DPS at you (the blockade) but it still was way better paying than lvl 2's.
If you want to do them a little faster: Good Droneskills make things easyer. Cap Rechargers II are probably the best thing ever invented :p (and you can get them fast).

Listen to her, she knows whereof she speaks.
You can probably swap the DC for a heat sink.
If you have the powergrid for it, shove either a tractor beam (useful for snagging mission items) or a small nosferatu in the last highslot.
When you can afford it, add CCC rigs. --- Some days you are the pigeon, and some the statue. |
