well, on my main im a part of an alliance which seems to be the focus of a few mercinary corps
how do you survive mercs? the only solutions ive seen seem to be
run into 0.0, cva is a good one for us, mercs never follow
and going into a station and not logging into that char for a while until they get bored
any other ways to survive a dec?
thanks

If, as an alliance, you'd be losing more money by running/hiding than it would cost you to hire mercs to fight the mercs fighting you then that could be a good option - especially if you back up their expertise with your numbers. Alternatively seek to get trained so you can fight them yourselves.

1. Fleet ops with veteran PvPers in your alliance 2. inty with nanofiber, warping around to annoy said mercs until EMO-RAGEQUIT sets in from their failure to catch you 3. Join a noob corp until wacdec is over 4. Watch local
Failing that:
5. put on battleship 5, stay docked

I a got WarDec'd and am in the first minutes of it. Granted mine is by some lamer High Sec corp trying to arm wrestle isk out of me...being a one man corp (yeah bad idea I know but don't care) I am going to use an alt until they get tired of throwing their isk at me.
As an aside there are options to surrender/declare mutual...besides the obvious of what they do...would it cost any isk to just surrender?

you cannot surrender, and declaring the war mutual would erase what it costs them. ♥

Ignore them?
I have witnessed an alliance failcascade its self while trying to fight mercs. It was pretty funny actually as they were hardened PvE players (I NO RITE!) so they jumped at the challenge (at first) and formed up fleets and went out looking for fights. For the entire first week of the dec all of the fights were with these fleets and they didn't win a single one.
The mercs had it easy as their opponent was conveniently forming up in to small groups and roaming around looking for them. They didn't even need to trap them as was proved when a single merc HAC took out a 7 man fleet.
After the first week the alliance had thrown so much stuff at the mercs that they basically folded. Not a single miner/industrial was even targeted.

they have to accept if you choose either. so it's become pointless to do it.

Does the WarDec automatically renew after a week or do they have to choose to continue?

They have a bill in their corporation menu, if they choose to pay it, then it will extend another a week. The war will last as long as they want to pay for it.

Might sound mad but...
Send wave after wave of sh*tfit tech I cruisers to gank their tech II ships, you might lose 10 ships to their one but you will be winning isk wise and getting good practice at the same time. focus fire and just f*ck them up big style. It's fun and cheap and shows you are willing to fight somehow.
Also, emplyo what EVERYONE uses in wardecs... locator agents (although chances they are outside your station smacktalking), and non corp scouts and ship scanners etc... find their weak spots and gank them with the aforementioned cheap TI frigs. Learn to enjoy losing ships ,but winning the isk war. Do not fly pve setups and do not use vv expensive implants unless you are 905 sure you can get them out of harms way competently.
overall have fun and show them you are up for at least SOME sort of fight... Chances are they will respect that.

Heres some annoying things you can do.
You could also go AFK in space, in a frigate with a cloaking device fitted about 10 jumps out or so, even better if you do it in a mission hub (where you have standings) so they waste their time locating you, and attempting to probe out random ships they think are you.
The level 4 mission Recon 3/3 is another good way to annoy them, since it will kill Covert ops / Probe frigates. Burn away when you land and sit in it with an unrenamed ship aligned. Bonus points if you get one of their probing alts with it.

2 implies 1..so actually 1 or 2...3 is redundant

I could be wrong, but I thought that if no kills are made in the first 24 hours the war is invalidated and they have to go through the process of re-dec'ing you.
This does of course mean you have to stay docked for 24 hours or use an alt or maybe even log on to RL and play that for a while.
If you have a POS then the dec'ers can just fly a rookie ship to your POS and let your POS get the first kill thus extending the war.
Or you could disband your corp and recreate a new one in a matter of minutes. This does look bad on your CV though and again, if you have a hi sec POS it will take time for your new corps standings to rise.

Do what I do and fit a cov ops for L3 courier missions.
Then simply ignore them and go about your business.
Makes 'em crazy and they will soon drop the wardec

buy a cov-ops... or something cloaky (warp cloaked) and go afk in a system, then when you come back fly as many jumps you can in a different direction then cloak up in a safespot and go afk... repeat every day while you do other things. good systems to fly to and go afk in... amamake, rancer, tama, old man star, ec-p8r, hed-gp, pf-346, f7c-ho etc etc

T1 cruiser swarm is actualy the most fun as said up there ^
Insure them all, only fit t1 mods, and fit for gank. if you do a bit of research on which ships will be easiest for you to pop for the most isk you can win the isk war. t1 cruisers insured you'll get nearly all your isk back. there t2 cruisers and frigs however, usualy rigged and full of t2 mods will give back a minimal ammount. Then smack them back that your only miners and your pwning them. that goes down well.

Edited by: Tom Sasaki on 09/07/2009 09:14:07 Edited by: Tom Sasaki on 09/07/2009 09:13:53If you got the coordination and numbers to fit a decent ammount of RR battleships that also tends to bore smaller merc corps to death as they simply wont be able to kill anyone and if they engage they tend to loose. When playing docking games with these you can simply fit for medium range have a gigantic swarm of light drones to ruin any interceptors & other frigates and skip the mwd.. then throw in eccm to make their jammers task harder.
Alternativly sniperbuilds like this and camping in docking range.
The other option is expendable T1fitted cruiser/frigfleets of doom.
Only highsec wardecking corp I've seen still winning iskwise against RR tactics is TRAPS.. but then they are really really good at waiting semiafk in stations untill the odds favour them.
