Hi
Forgive the noob question, but is there any way I can stop myself being webbed?
Thanks in advance for your help.

No. Only motherships and titans are immune to webs. other than that the only way is to stay out of web range.

Of course the other possibilities are:
- Drain/Neut the energy of the webbing ship - Kill the webbing ship

Thanks for the help. If I am surrounded by several ships, is there a way of telling which one(s) webbed me?

If its other players, then the answer most likely is 'all of them'

Wouldn't ECM burst stop the webbing ship from having a lock on him and thus stop the web? (sorry if that's a stupid question, have never PVP'ed) |

Hadn't thought of that - it ought to work. I've never PvP'ed either, but no lock should mean no web in any case.

ECM burst has the potential to help, but you've got a 30 second cycle on it, and it is only an instantaneous lock break, not a jam cycle. You need to be ready to exploit your burst if it works, i.e. overheat your MWD and bolt or be aligned and ready to warp out. Against high scan resolution ships you will have a lot of trouble making good use of the module slot.
In general ECM bursts are neat in concept but extremely difficult to find a reliable, worthwhile use for in actual gameplay.
Suicide frigates with ECM bursts can be fun to use against RR battleship blobs I've heard, if you have pilots without anything better to fly. ---

1) ECM of any kind. Burst is dangerous, because depending on the System Sec, you could accidentally hit someone neutral and get Concorded. But regular ECM will break their lock. No lock means no webbers or scram or any of those fun PvP toys.
2) Nos/Neut can drain their Cap enough they can no longer power the Web. Problem being, you really have no idea how much Cap they have left, whether they're using Boosters, or what... until the Web fails.
3) MWD could potentially get you outside their Web range.
4) Guns... lots of guns. Dead men tell no tales, and they don't web you either. |
