I have a really annoying graphic bug when im playing eve on my brand new comp, I am unable to see the exhaust trails from ships and i have beams of light (not lasers!) coming from all ships.
It appears to be a shader problem as it disapears as soon as shader level is set to medium. The beams of light look to come from the engine points on the ships. I have the most up to date driver installed (I check every 2/3 days)
Any word on anyone else having similar problems/workarounds for it would be appreciated. |

Perhaps you could tell which operating system you use.
On Win XP Pro x64, I did not notice such problems with either ATI 3870 CrossFire or 4870x2 cards. On Windows 7 RC1, I experience enough graphical issues that I've quit using that OS.

I am a windows vista 64bit Ultimate, user. Intel Core 2 duo 6400 2.13 GHz, 4MB Ram, Gigabit motherboard. I currently have ATI Radeon X1650 (256 DDR3) grfx xard, wich has always had issues with eve, the driver crashes periodicaly causing a black screen while it recovers, wich useually happens when zoomed in during Explosions (IE heavy load) and I also occasionally get artifacts like the ones described above, and occurs more frequently the higher the settings. after apocrypha I now can't use higher than med settings, or the client hangs. I did Buy myself a shiny new Saphire HD 4830 ATI grfx card... wich worked beutifully. Untill I tried to play any 3d game, including eve. It ran fine for a few mins, (longer with lower settings) then would crash the client, All drivers are uptodate, and all atempts to resolve the issue, mine and useing recomendations, from websites and 'forum experts' resulted in the situation getting worse, to the point that I reverted back to X1650. I would love for this to be fixed, but have no hope of it ever happening. Will switch to G-Force next time I have spare money.

Edited by: Alexg567 on 11/07/2009 01:29:23 I have managed to fix the bug, it appears to have been caused by the Catalyst Control System overiding the games settings. All I had to do was make sure every setting selected in Catalyst Control Sytem was set to "use application settings".
FYI: I have Windows Vista x64 |
