Wranglers response to locking that thread is that "There are certain words in a lot of posts that we don't use on these forums."
i see one word, in the last post that could possibly meet that description "b**ch"
Now im not backing you up on Wrangler being in some form of cahoots with Tank here paddy, its not my place to do so.
But i do think that Wrangler is a bad moderator. Thats my oppinion and im entitled to it wrangler, like it or not.
I have asked you before and got no response, how many forums have you moderated before now? my guess is none. I run a busy community, upwards of 300 concurent users at any time, so know a bit on what im talking about.
You seem to me to be on a power trip, and have no idea on how to effectivley moderate. you are "lock thread" click happy. IMO.

You guys have been going about it whole day long.
It does not contain any valuable information.
It is bunch of trolling and flaming.
Therefore its locked.
Whoever, can read posts that are there already and there is no need for more posts on "dead horse" topic.
Please move on.

Do the right thing and go to somewhere like www.eve-i.com where there aren't any draconian T&Cs or any trigger happy moderators looking to make a name for themselves.
The forums here have always been bad. Just go somewhere else.

I have to agree that Warngler is far far too lock happy. Rules are there for the big stick - a bit more common sense would help rather than over judicious rule enforcement.
I would like to qualify that with a thank-you to Wrangler though for at least keeping this orderly - I just think it's a bit OTT sometimes ;) (moding that is)

Well, for everyone who thinks there's too many threads being locked, there's someone who thinks not enough is being locked. If you start a thread about how good the mods are, people will happily agree and if you start a thread about how bad the mods are, there's an equal amount of people who will disagree. If I go in and edit and delete posts, people will complain about that and if I delete threads there will be complaints about that.
To reply to some of the posts here:
No, I'm not a friend of Tank, not in game and not out of game. In fact I had a member of my corporation podded by him for no reason in beta. So that should give you an idea about my personal feelings. That doesn't mean I will let anyone flame him, or him flame anyone else. Before you mention m0o, my personal opinion is about the same for them. But that doesn't mean I will ever treat them better or worse than anyone else.
Tristan, you have the right to say what you think, as long as you don't break any rules. If you think I'm a bad moderator, that's fair enough. However I'm not going to change what I do just because you disagree and happen to run another community. You do what you do there and I do what I do here, I don't know what you do, and how you do it, but maybe I would disagree with your ways?
Rules are here to be followed, we will not tolerate you breaking them.
In the end, everyone here has different opinions about moderating. Some want it more harsh, some want us to go easier. It is impossible to please everyone.
You can give your opinions about this, however I would ask you to not discuss specific threads or moderating actions, they will not be answered. If you feel that there is a specific locking or whatever that you want to discuss do so by emailing [email protected]. Also avoid the flaming, trolling and other ways there is to break our rules. I'm happy to keep this thread open unless anyone breaks the rules, then it will get deleted or locked.

Well that particular thread was OTT, but I do agree with tris, wrangler is not the best mod ive met, in fact hes very close to the worst(the only mod ive seen worse than him was removed from his job 2 days after he started) IMO

I've Been in Eve for over a year now. ( about the time beta started) I was here when wrangler showed his I responed to every thread head :P
In all that time I've never seen him lock a thread that shouldn't have been locked. The mods have rules, wrangler follows them.

Hi,
keep up the good work Wrangler.
I sometimes wish this game would be beta again and all the whining and harassing would stop :-).

The Eve community was so much more civil back then...
It is now the same as the forums for any other game...riddled with chaos and unruly behaviour... Ensign hyden(Mining & Transport) - Logistics Division - Hadean Drive Yards

Well, this simply proves what I've said, for everyone that thinks I/we do a bad job there's someone who thinks I/we do a good job. That doesn't mean that I, or any other mod is perfect, but we do our best.
And FYI, I'm very far from being removed ;)
