The amount of hypocrisy in this thread is astounding. Truly. It began to reach critical mass about the time it stopped being about Sorched Earth...which was what...page 1?
Love me some CAOD.
Anyway, when I said Scorched Earth's decision somewhat made sense in the short-term in that "backstab" thread from a while back, I didn't realize it would be as short-term as it looks like it might be.

Ok - back on track with Scorched Earth. We can agree that they've been busy in July.
Losses - July 2009 663 Ships killed (17.14B ISK) 1157 Ships lost (38.48B ISK)

As soon as PL lost a couple of caps they cynoed out their remaining few caps and run away and were never seen again on that battlefield. CH though stayed, jumped in tons of more caps and in one of the biggest cap battles in Eve they held the field in the end.
But yeah, elite pvp alliance, sure thing!

Add more curds to top layer and smother in extremely hot chicken gravy making sure to get some on every curd so that they melt into a beautiful cheese gravy goop. Top with bacon bits, a tiny whip of sour cream and sea-salt to taste.

Edited by: UNA13OM13ER on 14/07/2009 03:41:11 ACE Has left BYRN..........
This was the best show of logistics I have ever seen in this game, We completely removed all assets without any problmes in 26 hours, all memebrs are in high sec and all assets secured.
For those I Flew with, Fly safe, keep comms clear and listen to the Fleet Commanders. They are learning jst like you are. As for current allaince leadership, I think if you told the rest of the alliance what your plan for BYRN is, there wouldnt be much of a BYRN left. By Voteing to have the Charter restricions removed without all the CEOs votes was childish. But at the same time I also understand that LEADERSHIP IS HARD AT ANY LEVEL, however that does not detract fro the fact that you treat people with the dignity and respect that they desreve. From a corp leadership perspective it has basically become impossible to function within this alliance, the demands that are being placed on corp leaders are unreasonable primaraly because like us an industrial corp it has become become very much one sided in VAFS favour, the moon mining situation is beyond belief, and the demands to eject members from corps is not acceptable either. The Operational and growth plan that 'EL'RAC' wants in SE offers no support at all for the alliance corps except for VAF. what it does do is put corporations like us and others into a situation where we do all the hard work like deploying and running pos's at our expense to then give away all of our profit we could make on moons let alone our time and capital invesetment that we have used to deploy and maintain them. In a nutshell, E'lrac and TESSA are getting really wealthy while everyone else is paying for it. This is not the kind of Model I would use to make a Alliance grow.
Maybe one day the current alliance leadership will see the error of its ways. I belive this allaince has alot of potential.
For the corps that are staying. Good luck, and fly safe. Im sure we will see each other again real soon

People are still surprised at El'rac and VAF treating other corps badly? WTF?! You didn't figure it out when Entaran's corp got banished from mining in the decent systems because he was willing to sell dreads for less than Tessa?
The irony is, a lot of SE seems to believe that VAF is actually a good thing for the alliance. Woot, medium to high prices and you ONLY have to wait 1-2 weeks for stuff to arrive! Or you could stroll over to any decent 0.0 region and buy stuff for less directly off the market. Even IRC had 10x the market that SE did and they never made a big deal about it.
Oh yeah El'rac: posting that you are going to hot drop people on intel channels that everyone in the world can see -> not good for operational security :)

You are very optimistic after losing some 20% of your alliance (500 members) in one weekend. From what I hear, more corps are in discussions about leaving to, so that will be something to look forward to.
Also care to comment on your killboard stats for this month elrac? 702 Ships killed (18.12B ISK) 1210 Ships lost (39.28B ISK)

Your wife is wise and has taste. Having done it both ways, beef gravy does indeed to the trick. However, it does not allow for the full bacon effect in the same way that chicken gravy does. For optimal results, you really want to use packet gravy from a Quebec restaurant called St Hubers. If you are state-side and unable to acquire this luxury, gravy from Kentucky Fried Chicken works equally well. It doesn't hurt to have some asprin on hand in case you have a heart attack during digestion.
Enjoy.

I don't think that it's specifically linked with TCF. The cement of an alliance is trust...by betraying TCF (or any other alliance who would have treated them well) their leader proved to be, first of all, untrustworthy. Who has betrayed once, will usually betray again. It must be difficult to stay united when you are not sure wether you can show you back at your own chiefs or not.

You mean, they saved them from Aggression, then Sc0rched switched sides before even one of their POS was attacked? And who is holding the high end moons in the area now? Surely not Sc0rched Earth.
Except they now can't complain about the raw deal, because they sure won't receive help from anyone else. If Atlas or AAA tell Sc0rched to jump, their only possible reply is "how high?".
Good move by Atlas, to be honest, but Sc0rched Earth is now in an even worse situation than before. -clp

TBH, I agree that TCF kinda left SE out to dry... kinda.
See, there is no transperancey with alliance leadership, so we know what they told us, and that was if SE got invaded again, TCF would not help. Now granted, TCF did have some things on their plate at the time. So SE asked for the high end moons to help fund a capital ship building program, and SE was told flat out, NO.
If this isnt true, the El'Rac was a lier and a cheat. If it WAS true, than it made sence to go with the other deal, reset standings and have WC as a home.
But then -A- said they wanted the moons, so everybody said "ok", alliance chat was spammed about it, people flamed, duckey left and people forgot the moon thing, because duckey was still in a fleet when he flipped, warped to a ship in fleet and popped it. So THAT became the focus point, not the fact that SE was being bullied.
Then El'rac gets rid of the alliance charter, because he couldnt do anything without it being voted on, and none of the CEOs thought his ideas were good, so they voted no all the time. So he got rid of the charter and became a dictator. As my corp mate stated, not the model for running an alliance I would use......
But all in all, I think SE will do well, they will continue to grow, corps will come and go as they do in every alliance. And maybe one day, El'rac will look back at what he has destroyed and think...."wow, maybe i was a dik after all....."

As someone said, not a single shot had been fired at a pos, ~left them to die~ at the hands of what? Atlas and aggression wolfpax? Soon as Byrn betrayed TCF, new hostiles took over that job anyway.
Your coalition had bigger fish to fry with goons and RA and wasn't even a threat to WC, an annoyance, sure, but, the truth is BYRN just wanted a fresh and different kind of Overlord to be their homeland defense in the event of another war.
P.S. Jabbie, why did you necro that Byrn Standing Reset thread? We were saving that for when Atlas reset BYRN

Some funny stuff, eh? :)
The sad thing is, SE had a lot of potential. The corp quality was certainly a lot higher than IRC for example. The issue is and has always been that alliance leadership in there is f'in terrible and the poor decisions made by El'rac were always going to result in massive failure at some point. Back in April my prediction was 6 months, but it is no surprise to see it coming already after 3.
Oh well, another -A- ally down the drain. At least when -A- hears the footsteps later on, they'll be able to console themselves with the fact that at least their alliance leadership got lots of $$$ in real life from moon gold taken from "allies".
