This is probably an obvious question, but here goes:
If I engage in FW I am destroying my standing with the opposing Militia, right? So even once I leave the Militia I will probably be Shoot-On-Sight by 2 factions? |

Yes. But that is what alts are for.
Join caldari and you can still go to Jita. Unless FW turns you into a dirty pie like me. |

Can't you buy tags and trade them for standing somewhere? If you were to leave militia and wanted to repair standing? |

if you dont mission or run complexes for your chosen faction, you wont lose standings with the opposed two. So if you leave militia you may not be -5 to them.
I'm about -10 to amarr now but I think if i left militia my diplo skill would keep me from being KoS in caldari hisec.
Sec status, on the other hand, not so good. *polishes halo*

Always been tempted to try FW but the thought of such terrible standings is a bit of a turn off.
Sec status is fairly easily sorted, but the other faction standings sounds brutal. |

For actually pvping, you'll only lose standings with the opposing FW NPC corp (24th IC for my case). You only lose faction standings for killing the NPCs in the plexes/missions. If you are smart about it then you can avoid the worst of the standings hits... I am not smart about it ;) |

So if you just engaged in the Pvp, then you would be safe if you left and went back to Empire? (Ignoring sec status).
However if you wanted to Plex, you'd be kinda screwed from most of Empire? |

I used to have that mindset too. But in reality, how many of us travel through all 4 faction space on a consistent basis? I sure don't. Even before FW, I mainly stuck in Gallente space. Of course, I understand the principle behind it and people want to have the option.Though, last I heard, Jita is more dangerous than lowsec anyway
