Hi all !
Sure, the new inventory system is nice ... But because we can't rename corporate hangar array or modules such as guns and/or Ship Maintenane Array, to find what is what in the inventory is really annoying ... Just a pic to show you :

My opinion is quite contradicting. The inventory management sucks. You need a lot more time to do things (far more than before) and if you have multiple corporate hangars with containers in them it takes for ever to sort out things. This is a really bad development to say at least. Further more, to make things even more time consuming for no reason at all, while looting a wreck the cargo hold opens automatically just to annoy you having to close it every time. What a stupid idea!!!!!! This whole inventory management has to be redeveloped or redesigned as it is a step back from the previous system.More time consuming, harder to use, inefficient and not user friendly. |

There are nice features but user friendly it is not. Too many clicks to simple things (did anyone bother to move stuff between pos modules??). |

Yes, i did...
But since i played with it on SiSi, i knew that i'd have to come up with a completely new naming convention to be able to deal with the TREE of DOOM....though this naming convention does not work with the arrays YOU CAN"T RENAME...*facedesk
It still sucks major bum to do anything....more so if your in an orca trying to do things...like pull ore out of each of the holds and put them into an array...

It is horrible and creates many more windows using shift click, not less. Much more clicking and it just plain is MUCH harder than it was before.
I have 5 labs for different things and now moving stuff between these is a nightmare where before it was just work. What the heck was wrong with the old system? Who asked for it to be "fixed"?
All my corp hangers and structures, which were so easy to use via the tabs I created years ago, are now a haunted house of horrors to navigate witha resulting zillion windows and many more clicks required to to the jobs less efficiciently.
This is progress? |

I agree - tending a POS with the new inventory is guessing which of the several Silos is the one I want.
Please make it so we can name them to what's inside (or you could just label it based on what kind silo it is) |

No, this is not progress. In RL, I am a Systems Analyst for a local healthcare facility. I've seen lot's of attempts at make a working, usable system "better" by adding nifty buttons, controls, and other crap that turns the perfectly usable system into a jumbled mess that is difficult if not impossible to use. Guess what CCP just did to us? Yep - crap.
I don't claim to be the "be all, know all" when it comes to proper UI design. I do know when I see a system take a major step backwards. Believe me, this is one of them.
Example: At one of my POSs, I wanted to move some Scandium from a silo to my ship's hold. I could have sworn that it moved to the hold, I onlined the silo, and warped to another POS to deposit there for further processing. Surprise, it didn't transfer into the hold. I had to warp back to the first POS and try again. Now in the old system, I'd have had two windows open and would have been able to visually confirm the Scandium transferred as I expected it to without having to click on some branch in a tree to move from one storage location to another. Simple, clean, easy to use. In this new system as explained in earlier posts, it is difficult at a POS to find the correct silo/hanger to pull from or drop into. I can only imagine the issues I'll have when I try to salvage tens or hundreds of wrecks if this isn't fixed.
CCP - There is absolutely no way you can convince me that you tested this inventory system with POS management and believed that it is an improvement. Further, this code was on your test system for some time. I can't believe that anyone who tried this on a POS could have liked it either. Please, either take this system out and put the old system back in or give us the ability to choose the system we want to use. The current system is unplayable... |

There is an ungodly amount of shift clicking to get everything open, please add a right click on a structure to open the cargo in a new window because to use the tree at a pos you have to make the stupid window huge just to deal with the tree. The old system was much more pos friendly. Also make it so when you drag an item from one area to another one does not have to drag it to the items top make it so it can be dragged anywhere in the tree for that item not just at what the storage device is.

Totaly.
First : Give us possibility to rename structures. Second : Give us possibility to use the inventory like we use the Overview, with tabs and possibility to save preference and filters of hangar type. |

TOTALY ! FIRST : Give us the abilty to rename structures in POS. SECOND : Give us a Inventory that works like the Overview with Tabs and settings that we can save with filters applied an the various array we can find in POS. THIRD : My Cargo must be located in another window ^^

I think the reason it is so slow is the pinging of prices of everything in the hangars. Who cares what its all worth. Yes it is awkward using it in a pos with a decent amount of structures around. I imagine salvaging a large mission is going to be a hassle too. I see nothing about it that makes me glad they changed it. Its slower, more complicated, and has uneccessary features. |

It seems they forgot that in a game User Interface must be easy,friendly and not complicated regardless of the games complication. If we wanted complicated and in depth Material and Inventory management we could even buy ...... SAP to play with and not a game. Wake up please |
