I just reinstalled Eve to give it another go today and I keep getting server status unknown. I went through the list provided by support and nothing seems to be fixing this (outside of messing with the router since I am at school, but I doubt the school has anything set to block games since I see people playing craptastic wow all the time) so I am just wondering if the servers are actually down. If they are down or even if they aren't I would like to know where I can look to see whether or not they are down, other than the daily downtime, of course.
Thanks,
-Oz

Check your firewall and router if you can't get a connection.

Edited by: Asmundur on 14/07/2009 19:06:01 I did, and thanks for the link.:) About all I can surmise is that the school's wireless network is blocking eve. This is odd, because, as I have stated, they allow WoW. We'll see if this is the case when I get home tonight and try it on the home network.
Thanks,
-Oz
I don't know why it defaults to Asm when I never use him.

I've spent all day trying to fix this issue. It can't be the firewall, the install, the patch, or my personal security settings. As far as the firewall I shut down both norton and windows firewalls after setting them to allow eve and manually setting allow parameters for them. The only thing I can think of is that the school's network won't allow it, but if that is the case, as I look over my shoulder and see two WoW kiddies enjoying -their- game, I will be quite angry.

If there are people playing WoW on the network, you can play EVE. The network is more then likely blocking the EVE port. Due to port issues CCP announced a while back that you can also connect to the server on the same port that WoW uses.
Open up the prefs.ini file from the settings folder (same location as the cache folder), change the line port=26000 to port=3724 and save. You should be good
