If you can see them they can shoot you. Best option is to get off grid.

i suggest you get a apoc / rokh / mega and what ever minnie use to snipe =)

It's 150Km from the object they protect.
You could infact be well under 150Km to a gun, but if you are 150Km from the gate it protects, they will not shoot.

150km from the center of the object they protect, which in the case of stations and region gates makes quite a bit of difference.
