I have a crazy suggestion for an update.....Don't fuk up things that are NOT broken and fix the things that ARE. example: Smoke from missles in the vacuum of outer space? rly? Not only is that obsured it also adds more lag, which is kinda ironic when I've been seeing advert's about "missles, missles, missles". No wonder their servers is overloading....fukin idiots And the 'new' fagg0t azz win7 wanna-be style inventory sux, in so many ways, but I'm sure any1 new to operating systems and a fan of win7 will disagree.... |

Old inventory system was a mess, honestly. It was kinda neat and minimalist but murders my OCD. Having everything in a nice tree, while not optimised yet (windows resetting etc) seems like the way to go, at least for me.
Hopeful for optimisations.
And you are talking about technology from many years in the future, if we want smoke missiles we can have em. there is no way you can logically argue against anything because we know nothing about the physics or science involved. I know nothing about the physics involved myself even in the real world so i wont argue. |

Not liking the Windows inventory. What was there before worked fine for me, really not enjoying this it looks a mess. I don't need to see every ship and every corp division and every can and every single freaking thing *just* when a click and drag drop to reload ammo would do |

Just take a guess on what would happen to smoke from a fossil fuel burning engine(like a rocket) in the COLD, VACUUM, of space. Hint: That tail from a comet that orbits out star(sun) is NOT smoke. |

Win7 is not an example of whatever intuitive a software can be, it's a piece of crap like all windows versions able to do gazillions of errors just by working without any sort of intervention from you.
Intuitive stuff? -ask MAC users, THIS is an example of intuitive stuff for EVERYONE
Used all windows versions from 1.1 to 7 64b, professional, 2000 and whatnot crap needing patches to patch patches patching the fecking patches of patches and bring more patches to patch the dam patch, always crap at the end, but everyone seems to like it (ask yourself why)
If there's an example that should be taken for intuitive software it's certainly not Windows. |

I swear some people post stuff to sound like a d!ck.....
I personally hate the new inventory, and I don't usually use the word hate much as I reserve it for things I really, really just can't stand.
It's made doing the simplest things tedious i.e. dragging drones to and from items to bay, I know most carrier pilot would agree with me here... you don't have; 1 flight of fighters, 1 flight of warriors, 1 flight of heavies, 1 flight of ECM, 1... you get where this is going... anyway, the old system was much easier to see what was already in the bay and then add according to taste.
And the shift click thing... go away, why would I do that? when I could simply open the drone bay separately before MUCH SIMPLER! |

Dont like smoke trails? Find them illogical? Or cause you too much lag?
There are options.
http://i.cubeupload.com/RBpvi3.jpg
As with the inventory thing. Don't just spew hate, spew support. Express your distaste politely and without making a scene.
"I don't like this because... and i think it would be better if... the main flaws are..." instead of "You guys suck i want everything back how it was i don't want progress or change at all"
That way the idea can actually grow to be what you want it to be, and its the kinda feedback im sure developers want. |

ccp's eVe developing goals don't seem to be to stream line the eVe client and to be realistic(ex: If I ram my Orca into a rock in the void of space, that rock should move, not the Orca becoming entagled in sum sort of invisible web).
Instead, the goal seems to be, to add more lag thru the use of smoke coming from missles. Is there a need for this? Do I need to see unrealistic, lagging, smoke coming from my missle? Do I need a different name for my missle at every 'update'? |

The lag would only be client side, if your computer can't handle it... buy a new one or.... turn the effects off... (escape menu, it's been there for almost a decade now).
The new decals, textures, models, meshes, animations, effects, trails and so on are all processed beside or in front of you (where ever your system is located), on your own computer. The only operation that the server has to do with them is by giving them to you via download when you update, If you are not computer literate TLDR: The new launchers will not cause (extra) lag, lrn2IT and stop being a technology hermit in the Information Age. |

My computer can handle it, but I'm also not goin to go out and purchase and install the latest hardware just because ONE software requires it for its bugs. The main question was "Why the need for UNREALISTIC smoke?" Does it turn u on to see it? And whats next? Flyin Purple People Eaters? |

Eye candy. Without smoke trails it looks very... bland. Trust me, eve would look very bland and you would see even less than you would now if it was entirely realistic.
And you can turn it off, no need to buy new hardware.
My computer isnt the latest either, cost me 1000-2000 and can do just about everything, including multiboxing. |

I can turn it off, ur right :)) what else should I turn off? ;p Do u know how to turn off the 'new' lame azz win7style inventory too? ;p
If these lousy updates continue, I'll turn off eVe altogether.....It's amazing when u think about it, when software first comes out, it's pretty good, but then as time goes on, idiots replace the original developers and the software goes to sh!t. Wait for CCP to put in window memory, then use the shift click feature. (they will im sure as it is a feature of ALL other windows in the game) It will remember that you like the windows in their original state (you can make them almost exactly the same size/shape/display as the originals) and open them as such. Go ahead and turn off eve, you probably need the break anyway, i know i do. But leaving aint gonna fix anything, and nor is sarcasm or non-constructive criticism. |

I spent some time playing with this new inventory system and have concluded that I don't like it much as-is.
Most of the time, I'm interested in having access to my ship hanger and item hanger by default when docked. However, in space I would rather not have a giant inventory window in the center of my screen every time that I undock. So, I close it. Then I dock and have to manually re-open it because the window doesn't retain different preferences for docked vs. undocked.
Additionally, it doesn't appear to remember when I've collapsed the ship hanger list on the left side of the window. The next time I dock, the list is expanded again. This means more clicks for me to get things back to the way that I want them.
Another problem I have is the fact that the icon/small icon/list setting is global across all views. I prefer to use icons for my ships, and list for the item hanger. That just isn't possible in the current implementation.
I haven't tried this with a mining op yet, but if what I've seen so far is any indication, I'm not convinced that I'm going to enjoy the experience. |

And YES, without the smoke, it would just be a tiny speck in the massive abyss of space with a tiny engine flare, not very noticeable unless you zoom in on it.
When I fire a missle, the only thing I want to see is the target exploding, IDC what color the missle is, or if it has a zit on it ;p And I certainly don't need added strain on my system because of sum unreal effect.
Are u rly zooming in on ur missles? ;p lol |

Didn't get as much eve time last night as I'd planned, but I did find it a bit annoying when I was moving some assets between characters. Some things, like not having to right-click my orca multiple times to get all the holds open, were nice. Others, like ships disappearing when I made them active (thus requiring MORE clicking than in the previous interface) weren't.
No task should take longer with a "new and improved" UI than it did in the previous UI. That's what "improved" means. It's time to put an end to CCP's war on piracy. Fight your own battles and stop asking CCP to do it for you. |
